Catch the Fireworks on the Peninsula and beyond

Fourth of July is the day of the year for Americans to go above and beyond in showing their beaming pride. Rock your red, white and blue while celebrating the country’s independence this year at a picnic, music festival or parade. No matter where or how you choose to celebrate Independence Day, annual firework displays always cap off the holiday’s festivities perfectly by lighting up the night. Here are a few local places that will have you “ooh-ing” and “ahh-ing” over their spectacular fireworks displays:

July 4th in Redwood City:
Celebrate July 4th in Redwood City at the Port with a July 4th Downtown Parade, 5K Fun Run, Carnival, Concerts, Festival, Fireworks and more! Fireworks start at approximately 9:30pm.

The July 4th Firework Spectacular in Mountain View:
The place to be in Mountain View on the Fourth of July is the Shoreline Amphitheater. This annual concert by the SF Symphony with an amazing fireworks display is the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day. Music starts at 8pm (doors open at 5pm) with the fireworks starting shortly after dark. The entire program lasts about two hours. Grab your tickets here.

Fourth of July Festival in Foster City:
The morning starts in Leo Ryan Park with a pancake breakfast at 8am, a family and dog parade at 11am and Fourth of July Festival continues with games, booths for shopping from vendors and local artists and live music. People start “reserving” spots on the lawn early in the afternoon for the very popular grand fireworks display starting at 9:30pm.

Ignite the Night Fireworks Spectacular at Great America:
Make sure to turn your head to the skies high above California’s Great America every Friday and Saturday in summer beginning May 22nd for a fireworks extravaganza before closing to celebrate our great nation. What a perfect way to kick off your summer visit.

Cruise along the Bay:
Step aboard the Hornblower and celebrate the 4th of July with a scenic San Francisco Bay Cruise. Choose from a Beer Lunch Cruise with free flowing beer or a Premier 4th of July Dinner Cruise with premium open bar, four course dinner and a front row seats to the San Francisco Fireworks Show!

Celebrate at the Pier:
Head over the bridge to the Fourth of July Celebration at The PIER. PIER 39 celebrates Independence Day with fun for the whole family featuring activities and musical entertainment followed by an elaborate fireworks display over the San Francisco Bay starting at approximately 9:30pm.
