Harvest means collective dinners and block parties

The bounty at Bay Meadows this fall is overflowing: Persimmon Park, our community garden, is bursting with produce. Neighbors are bursting with newly-made friends. And some residents are even reaping rewards from referring their friends to purchase at Bay Meadows.

I told two friends and then they told two friends…
Did you know that Bay Meadows is offering our residents a reward for referring two friends to live in our community? That’s right – as a special thanks, once a resident has referred two or more people who become neighbors, the referrer will receive a dinner party for 12 in Persimmon Park, courtesy of Bay Meadows!

And two dinners have already taken place. Residents and their new neighbors enjoyed a custom dinner of farm-driven delights prepared personally for them by Chef Chet Chase. The menu included such dishes as Arugula, Cantaloupe, Red Onion Salad and Grilled Chicken with Charred Lemon and Heirloom Tomatoes. Seated at the communal table under the stars at Persimmon Park, all the guests need do was sit back, relax and dine.

Gardeners commune at the communal table
What better way to enjoy the cornucopia of harvest than to cook with friends? Residents who maintain beds in Bay Meadows’ community garden did just that at their Harvest Supper. The festivities started the day prior to the Supper, as gardeners placed their over-abundance in a community box (picture tomatoes, zucchini, onions, peppers) and planned the meal from there.

Ol’ fashioned BBQ and Block Party
To celebrate Bay Meadows’ various townhome neighborhoods, we’ve begun hosting barbecue/block parties. Brightside residents exchanged laughs and got to know their neighbors over grilled good-eats. After all, what isn’t the best way to get to know your new ‘hood by sharing a meal together? We look forward to many more of these for all the home collections at Bay Meadows.

The vibrant Bay Meadows Town Square will be the ideal gathering place with ground floor retail, outdoor dining, pop-ups and more. Modeled after European plazas, it will include a large central fountain as the focal point and will serve as an energetic and dynamic urban core with plenty to keep you occupied. Once Caltrain is electrified, the platform will be elevated and grade separations will be installed on 31st and 28th Avenues, which means the Town Square will be the perfect place to relax outside for a glass of wine or an ice cream after a day of shopping at Hillsdale Mall.
