Guests mingled, mixed and voted at downtown San Mateo’s Philz Coffee on First Friday in February at the Fame by Frame Pop-up photo exhibit, the culmination of 100 finalist snaps taken by San Mateo residents throughout 2015. Over 100 people participated in voting on February 5th during the downtown San Mateo Art Walk, including Philz staff and patrons.

Drumroll please…. A big congratulations to Fabiloa Salazar, our 2015 winner of the Grand Prize ($500!) Fabiloa rallied friends to attend and cast their votes. Her entourage put her in first place just before final count at 8:30pm. Way to rock the vote, Fabiloa!

2016 Kicks off a new year of photos in our Annual San Mateo Photo Contest!
Keep on snapping those photos at Bay Meadows and beyond in San Mateo. From downtown San Mateo to Delaware Street and hot spots along the way, we want to see you capture the beauty and fun life we enjoy in San Mateo! Snap pictures at your favorite San Mateo events, capture our beautiful sunsets or public art. Take photos of the people and places you love most and give them a plug! Show off your hometown. You could WIN monthly prizes or $500! The vibrant Bay Meadows Town Square will be the ideal gathering place with ground floor retail, outdoor dining, pop-ups and more. Modeled after European plazas, it will include a large central fountain as the focal point and will serve as an energetic and dynamic urban core with plenty to keep you occupied. Once Caltrain is electrified, the platform will be elevated and grade separations will be installed on 31^st and 28^th Avenues, which means the Town Square will be the perfect place to relax outside for a glass of wine or an ice cream after a day of shopping at Hillsdale Mall.
