Looking for some fun this May? We’ve done a little research and rounded up some local events in the area including Bike To Work Day, Jazz under the Stars and Shooting Hoops with former Golden State Warriors legend, Joe Ellis.

Learn all about Hawaiian life and culture at the Day of Aloha on May 1st as Hillsdale goes Hawaiian style with a day filled with traditional dance, music, and crafts. Aloha!

ZUMBA @ Paddock Park on May 4th. Kitty Cat joins Bay Meadows every Wednesday at 6pm for an easy-to-follow, exhilarating, Latin-inspired, calorie burning dance fitness party.

Twilight Tails @ Landing Green Park: May 5th. Kick back while your pooch plays with the other dogs around town. Zoom Room Belmont will be here demonstrating agility courses for your pooch.

Join Devil’s Canyon Brewing in San Carlos for Beer Garden Friday on May 6th from 4-9pm for live music and outstanding cuisine from a variety of mobile gourmet vendors coordinated by Off The Grid.

Big things come in small packages in an amazing aerial display at the Hiller Aviation Museum on May 7th. The Biggest Little Air Show includes aerobatic performances and radio controlled model demonstrations.

Watch sailors compete in the annual “Flight of the Bulls” El Toro Sailboat Race starting in Foster City on May 7th. The race traverses the length of the lagoon from Boat Park through Central Lake to Sea Cloud Park and back.

May 12th is #BTWSanMateo. Bay Meadows + Kaiser are hosting the Energizer Station at 1000 Franklin @ Kaiser. We’re giving away bike lights, bike bells, bike maps, water bottles and refreshments + the official BTW 2016 bag from 7-9am. Professor Stanford presents The Sky Tonight Planetarium show night sky on May 13th in the renovated CSM Planetarium. Be there early or possibly miss getting a seat; the doors are locked once the show begins.

Celebrate the Polynesian Festival on May 14th in Leo Ryan Park, Foster City with Polynesian dance performances, food booths, arts and crafts booths and outrigger canoe rides.

San Mateo Innovation Week returns with a week full of local events between May 16-20th! Mosey over to the Maker Faire just next door to Bay Meadows at the San Mateo Event Center on May 20-22nd, showcasing creative and resourceful people in the areas of science and technology, engineering, food, and arts and crafts.

Celebrate the 7th Annual Memorial Day Parade Carnival and Music Festival in Hillsborough on May 30th with floats marching and riding through Town in honor of this patriotic holiday, celebrating the community and country.
Looking to mix up your fitness routine? Meet your neighbors and enjoy the fresh air with pop-up Zumba and Yoga classes at Bay Meadows. Or maybe mixing it up with your pooch is more your style. Twilight Tails at Landing Green Park is a chance to meet other dog-owners and hear about local pet resources.
