Duo Sees a Welcoming Lifestyle

How’s this for dedication to community? Louie Kappen and Mary Ann Teixeira jumped at the chance to sponsor Bay Meadows’ “Red Hot Roundup” because they’ve been watching the project rise up over the years and are excited that it’s helping to bring much-needed housing to the area.

Louie and Mary Ann are the team behind “Your Neighborhood Real Estate Experts” and they’ll be strolling with a roving ice cream cart at our spicy food truck party, giving out Blue Bottle Coffee gift cards and some surprises for guests.

We caught up with this dynamic duo to get the latest updates on the pulse of the real estate market, what trends are in and what they’re hearing from people who visit Bay Meadows.

Q. Thank you so much for sponsoring RHRU. What made you want to get involved in this event?
A. As Realtors, we have watched the Bay Meadows project develop and are thrilled to see a new community built around the transit corridor. Housing is needed for our growing community and Bay Meadows has been thoughtfully planned. We welcomed the opportunity to support the community and get to know the neighbors.

Q. Have you worked with clients in the Bay Meadows community?
A. Yes, over the course of the last three years, we have had the opportunity to assist buyers, sellers and renters.

Q. What do you enjoy about being a real estate agent?
A. It is so gratifying to be able to assist people when they are involved in one of the most important decisions in their lives. It is amazing how close you become to the family. In what other line of work are you able to become so close that you know the birthday of the family dog?

Q. What are some features you love the most at Bay Meadows?
A. Bay Meadows is a community. As a residential development, it is well designed, easily accessible and planned for outdoor activity. We love the open space and it’s very dog-friendly.

Q. What do clients appreciate about the prospect of living at Bay Meadows?
A. Initially, they are attracted to new construction and then attracted to the quality and great design of the homes. The location and its ease of commuting factors in. As a neighborhood, it attracts those who enjoy the ease of walkability, activities and the discovery of new interests. Once they get to know the community, they love the lifestyle that it cultivates and the friends that they make.

Name 3 things clients most want in a home these days?

  1. Convenience, both in the amenities of the home and the location.
  2. A neighborhood that feels comfortable, welcoming and safe.
  3. A place where they can entertain, whether that is hosting a birthday party for a four-year-old or inviting the entire family over for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
