Red Hot WrapUp

A big thanks to everyone who came out to play for Red Hot Roundup, Bay Meadows’ spicy food-truck extravaganza. There were prize winners, hot palates, gorgeous art was created and we raised funds for the San Mateo City Parks and Recreation Foundation and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. Good times – and we’ve got the photos to prove it!

Some of you cooled down with free ice cream from our event sponsor, Your Neighborhood Real Estate Experts, Louie and Mary Ann!

Did you see our Spicy Wing Eating Contest Winners?

  • Sergio Raya took home the gold, consuming a total of over 40 wings in two heats!
  • Curtis Bosick was a close second, walking away with a $200 gift card to All Spice restaurant.
  • Gino Levezzo, San Mateo firefighter, earned a $100 gift card to Oxgut Hose Co.
  • We even had a junior winner. Congrats, Kaelin. We hope you spend your $50 gift card well.

All the while, Mike Inouye, our MC from NBC Bay Area, kept things cool, even under the San Mateo sun. Special props to our Executive Judge, Melvin Vaughn. Former firefighter and, now, luxury developer, you can read all about Mel in this month’s Silicon Valley Magazine:
