Need a bike tune-up? Head to the College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market on May 6th between 10am to 12 noon. Streets Alive! Parks Alive! comes to San Mateo offering FREE bike repair and goodies. Satisfy your bike repair needs in time for May is Bike Month/#BTWSanMateo on May 11th and get groceries for the week!

The Peninsula Museum of Art in Burlingame hosts a Family Fun Day on May 6 to explore art and creativity.

E komo mai (means “welcome” in Hawaii). Bring the ohana and celebrate this big annual Polynesian Festival on the lagoon in Leo Ryan Park in Foster City May 6th 10am -5pm. FREE admission! There will be food/arts/crafts booths and free outrigger canoe rides by Ho’okahi Pu’uwai, one of two very active outrigger canoe clubs headquartered in Foster City.

The El Toro Sailboat Race, starts at the Boat Park /Dog Park, Foster City
Saturday, May 13th at 11am. Some two dozen sailors are expected to compete in this annual “Flight of the Bulls” El Toro Sailboat race. The 3-hour race traverses the length of the lagoon from Boat Park through Central Lake to Sea Cloud Park and back. (free)
