Get Those Canines in Costume!

Oh My Gourd! Come join the fun at the 3rd Annual Howl O Ween Howl on October 31st from 5-6pm. We cannot wait to see what our Twilight Tails regulars will wear this year. We invite you and your four-legged pals to strut your stuff in Landing Green Park where we’ll be offering pet portraits from photographer, Rosa Gallegos, and giving away FREE treats from our friends at Precious Puch Doggie Bakery before you enjoy a walk that evening to peek at the Spooktacular Stoop Decor of Bay Meadows. Dress up your doggies in their favorite costumes for a chance to WIN one of three $50 gift cards to a local groomer. You have 5 chances to WIN! We’re giving away $50 gift cards to Fluff & Puff, Happy Tails and Oh My Dog and Good Dog and attendees will also have the chance to win attire from Studio Cinnamon!

San Mateo and surrounding areas are welcome to attend this pet-friendly event. Meet some of our regulars and plan a doggie date nearby. Even The Bark Magazine has caught on to the community building we’re doing around here: Forward Thinking. “…residential planners, designers and developers are increasingly integrating dog-friendly amenities into their master plans, and programming activities for dog people of all ages….dogs serve as social bridges, facilitators of personal connections, even friendships and romances.”  (See Fall 2016 issue, page 17 for full write-up, plus Bay Meadows Twilight Tails in photos.)

Bay Meadows’ Social Media CCO’s (Chief Canine Officers), Strudel and Spaetzle Burghart, donned a few HalloWEENIE costumes to get you in the spirit for some doggone fun on October 31st. Whether your plan includes the classic styled Monster Mash, a favorite famous person (such as American aviation icon Amelia Earhart) or a favorite TV character like the King of Vikings, Ragnar Lothbrok, we’re certain your pooch will delight all on All Hallows Eve!

It has been a fun-filled season of Twilight Tails. With the changing weather, shorter days and dark nights—the events will take a hiatus at the end of October.

Be sure to take your pals for a long walk through the neighborhood to snap pics and vote for your favorite decor in Bay Meadows Annual Spooktacular Stoop Décor Contest. Kids will love transforming into their favorite fantasies with Happy Face during family-style Halloween fun from 3-5pm on Oct 30th at Paddock Park at Bay Meadows, so be sure to add that to your list! rates Bay Meadows high on the list for walkable locations to live on the San Francisco Peninsula and for good reason! Why? Because we are steps from shopping (Hillsdale Center), groceries (Whole Foods), parks, a farmer’s market and an easy bike-ride from downtown San Mateo with its burgeoning restaurant scene. San Mateo’s shared Bay Bikes are on-site, so no need to own your own. And Caltrain is a quick stroll from anywhere in the neighborhood.
