Originally, Bay Meadows was the site of an airfield. Planes came in, landed, took off again. There was real adventure. Then, in the 1930’s , the land became home to the Bay Meadows Racetrack and the passionate pursuit of glory and achievement. Seabiscuit raced here. So did Shoemaker. The “photo finish” was introduced here. This was a time filled with excitement and pageantry.
Commuter rail service extended the concept of mobility and movement in the mid 1980’s- bringing a new level of accessibility, growth and progress to the region. The evolution of mobility culminates in the new urban village and rail station of Bay Meadows and continues a legacy of forward thinking, progress, adventure, energy and aspiration. You can get anywhere from here, both literally and figuratively. Its enlightened walkable land plan, eclectic architecture, vibrant main street, sustainable office campus, parks and green spaces create a social heart and special gathering place where people enjoy being together, connected to one another, sharing the same values in the most genuine way.
This is Life in Motion.
