The San Mateo Firefighters Chili Cook Off Returns Aug 27
Things are definitely heating up in San Mateo! The San Mateo City Firefighters’ Association invites you to vote for your favorite chili recipe at the 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, August 27th from 11am-5pm in Central Park, San Mateo! Fire Departments will battle it out for top prize of BEST TASTING CHILI. The event will feature local bands, restaurants, kid’s events, breweries, and the best tasting chili in the state. There will be judges from local restaurants, and also a people’s choice vote. Follow along at #SMFireChili16.
A benefit for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association), the annual fundraiser helps to send local children with muscular dystrophy to camp, providing necessary medical supplies and contributing to the efforts to find cures for neuromuscular diseases.
Cost is $10 per person and includes tastings, one bowl and one drink. Available drinks will be beer, wine, soda and water.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars to battle the San Mateo Firefighters on Saturday, September 17th from 12-5pm! Red Hot Round Up returns featuring the Bay Area’s hottest food trucks and microbrews. A portion of RHRU proceeds will be donated to the San Mateo City Parks and Recreation Foundation and to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, a burn prevention and education charity championed by the San Mateo City Fire Department.
