LIFT Fitness Studio to Join Bay Meadows
Get ready to stretch, strengthen and flex, Bay Meadows! The hugely popular business LIFT exercise will open studios in the groundfloor of Station 4 – SurveyMonkey’s headquarters. Soon, workers, residents, LIFT fans and newbies alike will enjoy a variety of workout classes in the new facility.
LIFT has amassed a steady cult following at its existing location in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood. Owner Erin Wetzel is excited to bring her customized, high-intensity workouts to Bay Meadows, aiming to open in June.
In addition to exceptional training in a beautiful space, the amenities that LIFT at Bay Meadows will offer are distinct: Childcare? Showers and lockers? Workout apparel for sale. Food and beverages. Meticulously trained teachers? LIFT has it all and more.
Erin has been a fitness aficionado her whole life. With a background as a marketing professional, Erin did the deep research when considering starting her own business. She discovered many one-size-fits-all options, but not a lot of focused, customized training. “We saw BIG BOX gyms and we saw gyms getting face lifts and smaller sites that provided a mass application of a single modality.”
Erin created LIFT to offer multiple things under one roof – cardio in one room, body-changing classes in another with strength-training options, as well. Flexibility is a key element to LIFT and so is inspiring others and generating community.
LIFT’s various classes include:
- Barre
- Bike
- Core + Stretch
- High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
- Even Barre + Baby (for those that want to bring their baby into class with them!)
A GREAT FIT FOR BAY MEADOWS
Janice Thacher, partner with Bay Meadows developer Wilson Meany, noted, “LIFT is a perfect fit for the retail we’re curating at Bay Meadows. We were delighted to discover a fitness business that is homegrown and unique and offers a customized experience. Plus, everyone in the classes looks like they’re having a ton of fun and making good friends. We’re really looking forward to introducing our community to Erin and the LIFT team.”
And our transit-oriented, urban village resonated with Erin, as well. “Bay Meadows immediately spoke to us; the space itself, the vision, the retail partners really fit what we considered focusing on local businesses.”
Welcome to the neighborhood, LIFT!
