Central Park Music Series Returns June 22
The City of San Mateo presents the 2017 Central Park Music Series every Thursday evening from 6-8pm running from June 22 through August 17. Showcasing a variety of diverse music genres, the Central Park Music Series is a signature summer event that brings you nine evenings of free live music including a wide array of bands from classic rock to salsa to country that music lovers of all ages can enjoy.
Enjoy an evening under the stars filled with live music this summer at Central Park, a San Mateo landmark with a beautiful gazebo, lighted tennis courts, a playground and baseball field just minutes away from your doorstep at Bay Meadows. Whether you’re looking to socialize with friends, get some much needed family time, or dance the night away, the San Mateo Central Park Series is sure to be a great time and deliver a memorable summer evening each week.
Here is a Band Line Up for the 2017 summer series:
June 29: High n’ Tight – Classic Rock/Blues/Jazz
High-n-Tight is a four piece party band that plays classic rock-n-roll as well as selections of blues, jazz and country.
July 6: Neon Velvet – Salsa
Tito Garcia plays Salsa in the traditional format of the pioneers of this music and adds their own West Coast “tinge”.
July 13: Forejour – 80’s
Forejour pays tribute to the music of 80’s mega bands Foreigner & Journey, recreating the soundtrack of a generation with stunning accuracy.
July 20: Tito Garcia – Salsa
Salsa in the traditional format of the pioneers of this music and adds their own West Coast “tinge”.
July 27: Urban Outlaws – Country
Their mission statement: To learn every country song ever written and deliver their interpretation of these songs to you in a high energy live show!
August 3: Take 2 – Party
TK2 is a band that knocks you “on” your feet. This is an amazing 8-piece band that plays all genres of music and sound like the original artist who sang them.
August 10: Bud E Luv – Swing/Big Band
Mr. Luv delivers to you the hottest hits from Vegas: Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, Sammy Davis, Jr., Tom Jones, and the list goes on. Dance the Night away.
August 17: Spazmatics – 80’s
The Spazmatics recapture all the best of the worst of the 80’s. Outstanding musicianship combined with creative flair and style.
