Adorn Your Door, Handcraft a Holiday Wreath

Let’s delight in the holidays, light those spruce candles, adorn your doors, decorate those mantles, turn on those tunes and hang all the white twinkly lights you can find!

’Tis the season to be jolly and show your door some holiday love. Don’t forget your stoop as you’re hanging ornaments and counting turtle doves! Spiff up your door (or mantle or more!) with a handmade wreath for your holiday decor. Your house will be festive as you sip that egg nog and welcome your guests into your warm and festive home. Add some hot apple cider + gingerbread and make it a party.

Whether you choose to purchase or make your own, wreaths are an excellent decoration this time of year.  They can be made from a variety of foliage including, but not limited to, nobilis – pine or birch, holly/red bittersweet berries, bay leaf, sage, rosemary, olive foliage and eucalyptus. Magnolia leaves, Proteas, succulents and Tillandsia (air plants) are perfect to add a pop of color and architectural interest.

Gather your favorite adornments and make sure to have these handy:
Wreath frame
Loose 22-gauge wire
Paddle wire
Shears
Wire clippers

For those who are interested in a DIY project, here is a step-by-step approach to a holiday wreath-building project.

Create Foliage Bundles
Wrap Each Bundle with Wire
Attach Foliage
Continue Layering
Voila! Hang Your Wreath

You can also spruce (no pun intended) up your table setting with the help of these miniature winter wreaths, the perfect greenery complement for holiday celebrations and meals.
