Central Park Music Series Returns to San Mateo
Welcome to the City of San Mateo’s signature summer event: The Central Park Music Series! This event hosts FREE live music on Thursdays from June 20th through August 15th from 6-8pm in Central Park (Thursday, July 4th will be from 12-2pm). Whether you are looking to socialize with friends, get your family time in, or dance the night away, you’ll have a great time!
Summer fun returns to Downtown San Mateo as the City of San Mateo presents the 2019 Central Park Music Series every Thursday evening from 6-8pm running from June 20 through August 15. Showcasing a variety of diverse music genres, the Central Park Music Series is a signature summer event which brings nine evenings of free, live entertainment that music lovers of all ages will enjoy.
Experience an evening under the stars filled with live music this summer at Central Park, a San Mateo landmark with a beautiful gazebo, lighted tennis courts, a playground and baseball field just minutes away from your doorstep at Bay Meadows. Whether you’re looking to socialize with friends, get some much needed family time, or dance the night away, the San Mateo Central Park Series is sure to be a great time and deliver a memorable summer evening each week.
Here is the Band Line Up for the 2019 Central Park summer series:
June 20: The Department of Rock (Pop Hits)
There is no rock or tribute band that can come close to this powerhouse show. This “all dance rock” smoking hot rock tribute performs hits from Petty to Prince to Bono and Benatar.
June 27: Native Elements (Reggae)
San Francisco powerhouse, Native Elements has been keeping the energetic, feel-good reggae tradition alive in the Bay Area for over 19 years.
July 4: David Martins House Party (Party Mix) ***4th of July event from 11am-2pm, concert from 12-2pm***
With a vast repertoire of over 800 songs – nine amazing “allstar” musicians and two interactive performers, no other band can entertain like a “live” DJ; satisfying the widest audience tastes by customizing their playlists before and during their actual performance.
July 11: Pride and Joy (Motown/R&B)
This group is the Pride of the Bay Area and a Joy to anyone who loves to dance. They have achieved this by presenting the most timeless pop/soul music of our time in an electrifying high-style show that pulls the audience directly into the heart of their performance.
July 18: Julio Bravo (Latin/Salsa)
Peruvian born singer, composer, and bandleader, Julio Bravo creates an explosion of sound and energy that keeps their diverse audience coming back for more. Energetic, versatile, fun to watch, fun to dance to, showcasing an eclectic mix of the best danceable tunes, covers and originals.
July 25: SONA (Classic Rock)
SONA is not your average cover band, but more like your personal record collection. The band performs many of the classic rock standards that audiences crave, while including popular contemporary hits that appeal to a broader group.
August 1: Bud E. Luv Orchestra (Swing/Big Band)
The Bud E. Luv Show has been performing in the bay area as well as all around the U.S. since 1988. His 3-piece band sounds like an orchestra and his orchestra is nationwide and priced like caviar – perfect for any upscale event.
August 8: Urban Outlaws (Country)
Urban Outlaws is the exciting new country band that features eight all-star veterans of the Bay Area music scene and beyond. Urban Outlaws features experienced pro musicians with the chops to form a truly tight live band with amazing vocal harmonies.
August 15: Pop Fiction (Dance/Party)
Pop Fiction’s extensive song list features hundreds of the greatest dance hits spanning over 6 decades, featuring all your favorite 70s disco hits, 80s new wave and rock classics, as well as some of the best alternative, techno, hip hop and club hits from the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.

There’s a new Farmers Market in town and it’s in the heart of the Bay Meadows community. Visit our seasonal market on Sundays, 9:30 to 1:30 on the corner of Delaware and Franklin Streets. The Farmers Market in our Midurban village offers nutritious California fruits and veggies, handcrafted baked goods, farm-fresh flowers, prepared artisan foods and specialty items. Guests can also enjoy live music, fitness events, entertainment for kids, craft workshops and more, all presented in the welcoming outdoors of this new neighborhood.
