August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Twilight Tails. Join the line-up of professionals that cater to your canines and enjoy a romp in the park with other pet parents on First Thursday, August 1st. Create your own neighborhoods Yappy Hour Meetups by inviting your favorite four-legged pals for a romp in the park at Bay Meadows every Thursday evening from 6-7pm in Landing Green Park.

August 1, 8, 15, San Mateo’s The Central Park Music Series! This event hosts FREE live music on Thursdays through August 15th from 6-8pm in Central Park.

August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Movies on the Square. Experience Redwood City’s high definition surround sound 25’ outdoor theater this summer on Thursday evenings starting at sundown.

August 1, 15, 29, Coyote Nights. Head to Coyote Point and make new friends, sip local beer from Devil’s Canyon Brewery and learn more about the parks.

August 2, First Friday Family Night. On the first Friday of every month, from 5pm until 8pm, parents and kids relax and celebrate the weekend together at CuriOdyssey. Rock to the sound of rhythm and blues from Sunny & the Black Pack.

August 2, Free First Friday. Explore the History Museum in Redwood City, enjoy Playing in the Past and a General Tour. The Abandoned Lighthouse in Charles’ Parsons Ships of the World.

August 2, 9, 16, Summer Concert Series. Grab a blanket and head to Leo Ryan Park in Foster City for a variety of food and drinks to indulge on while listening to great local bands from 6pm-8pm.

August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, Music on the Square. Redwood City presents Music on the Square on Fridays during summer from 6:00-8:00pm, through August 30.

August 3, PHS/SPCA Mobile Pet Adoptions. First Saturday of the month @ 12-2pm at Hillsdale.

August 4, 11, 18, 25, Farmers Market Bay Meadows. Shop the market, enjoy live music, catch kids activities at Sweet Peas Tent hosted by Little Wonders San Mateo, plus park your pooch at the #PoochPitStop hosted by our friends at For Sniffs and Giggles! Every Sunday on the corner of E. 31st and Delaware Streets in San Mateo from 9:30am – 1:30pm (Rain or Shine).

August 4, 11, 18, 25, Bicycle Sundays. Weekly on Sundays, a 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities including jogging, bicycling, hiking, roller-skating, and walking.

August 7, 14, Music in the Park. Free music in Redwood City through August 14 on Wednesdays 6-8pm.

August 10-11, Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge. Prepare to Brave Your Adventure at Coyote Point Recreation Area!

August 10-11, Aloha Festival. Hosted at the San Mateo County Event Center adjacent to Bay Meadows, this two-day festival features music, dance, arts & crafts vendors, island cuisine, exhibits and workshops, and more.

August 10, Pub in the Park. Imagine a leisurely summer afternoon, lounging in a park, while listening to live Americana and Bluegrass music, sipping delicious local brews and enjoying lawn games.

August 13, Italian Summer Beach Party. Hang out on the Pizzeria Delfina patio with two raw bars, a seafood mixed grill, and some fun summertime vino in Burlingame.

August 16, Movies In The Park. Bring the kids to see How to Train Your Dragon 3 at Coyote Point Recreation Area.

August 18, Let’s Keep the Luau Going. Aloha! Let’s get Loco Moco in August and hula our way through summer. Save the date for our next specialty market at Bay Meadows! On Sunday, August 18th 9:30am to 1:30pm, along with our regular line-up of growers and makers, we’re rolling out some tropical flavors and bringing in new food trucks, workshops and experiences. Bring the kiddos to this family-friendly event. FREE Face Painting + Glitter Tattoos by Happycake, compliments of Bay Meadows!

August 18, Kokedama Comes to Bay Meadows – 10am – 12 noon! Join Cristal Chen of Sweetbloomsco and sign up for a workshop to create your own mini stylized living pineapple plants at the Luau Market!

August 18, YOGA+DJ+BEER. Enjoy a 90-minute yoga class at Devil’s Canyon Brewing Co. in San Carlos. Following the laid back class, sip on a beer, beermosa, or craft root-beer.

August 18, Sounds of the Shores. Redwood City takes its summer music out to Redwood Shores.

August 21, Happy Birds. Bring the little ones out and see Happy Birds as they perform at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos.

August 23, ART on the Square. From 5-8:30pm with Music on the Square in Redwood City.

August 23-25, ToyXpo. Celebrate pop culture featuring vendors of collectible action figures, comic-related apparel, and toys, plus seminars at the San Mateo County Event Center.

August 25, Summer Luau. Blue Whale Poke Bar & Grill is bringing the island to Hillsdale with traditional dance, music, and crafts. Enjoy hula and ukulele performances, along with seashell crafts for the kids!
