Catch The Holiday Spirit with Hillsdale Festivities This Season
Let it glow! The tree lights are back and although holiday events and festivities are taking on a new form this season, we encourage you to experience the most beautiful time of year in new ways. Set up new family traditions, show neighbors a little extra kindness and spread some much needed love to one another. See the twinkle in the eye of your wee ones at the tree and fountain light show, visit virtually with Santa, decorate a Gingerbread House and now more than ever before ‘Tis the season to give!
Hillsdale’s 2020 Tree Lighting Virtual Ceremony, hosted by Santa will take place on Friday, November 20 at 5:55pm. To watch the virtual tree lighting from the comfort of your home, visit Hillsdale.com. Visitors can also experience the holiday tree and fountain light show in-person on the North Block Plaza all season long, with multiple show times daily. Catch it live again and again each weekend on the Plaza, through December 22 at 5,6 & 7pm. For a weeknight holiday pick-me-up, the Fountain Lights and Music Show plays at 5,6,7 & 8pm, all season long, too.
Virtual visits with Santa are available by online appointment beginning Friday, November 20 through Thursday, December 24th; Mondays – Saturdays from 11am – 7pm and Sundays from 11am – 6pm. Through specially designed live video chat sessions and side by side photos, kids can still experience the joy of meeting with Santa. Parents can choose from three (3) digital holiday photo and/or video packages starting at $14.95, with select packages offering fabulous free gifts with purchase. Appointments are required and are available Friday, November 20 through Thursday, December 24th; Mondays – Saturdays from 11am – 7pm and Sundays from 11am – 6pm.
The annual Gingerbread House decorating tradition begins Saturday, November 28 and runs through Wednesday, December 23; appointments are available Tuesdays – Thursdays from 11am – 7pm and Sundays from 11am – 6pm. Presented by Kathy’s Creative Kakes of San Mateo, children of all ages are invited to deck out a freshly baked cookie house with all the sweet trimmings. Kathy’s cake artists will guide you through the process and show you unique ways to add festive features to your edible house. Houses start at $45 to include all the confections. Up to two people can decorate each house and parents can assist at no extra charge! Sessions begin Saturday, November 28 and run through Wednesday, December 23; Tuesdays – Thursdays from 11am – 7pm and Sundays from 11am – 6pm. To schedule an in-person class, visit kathyskates.com. Samaritan House donations can be dropped off during mall hours, Friday, November 27 through December 27, with new coat contributions extended through January 24, 2021. The community is invited to donate new coats for teens and children, and non-perishable food items to benefit those in need during the holiday season. Toys, gifts and used garments will not be accepted this year due to pandemic precautions. Both non-perishable foods and new coats can be dropped off during mall hours, Friday, November 27 through December 27, with new coat contributions extended through January 24, 2021. Collection bins are located Hillsdale’s Concierge locations – South End near M.A.C Cosmetics and the North Block Plaza.
Hillsdale Shopping Center holiday hours are Monday through Saturday 10am – 9pm, and Sunday 11am – 7pm. Special holiday hours include the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas when the store will have extended shopping hours. To see the full list of holiday hours, click here.
