Marking Central Park’s 100th Anniversary this year, the City of San Mateo’s 2022 Central Park Music Series returns every Thursday evening from 6-8pm running from June 23 through August 11. Showcasing a variety of diverse music genres, the Central Park Music Series is San Mateo’s signature summer event that brings you Thursday evenings of free live music including a wide array of bands from classic rock to salsa to country that music lovers of all ages can enjoy.

Enjoy an evening under the stars filled with live music this summer at Central Park, a San Mateo landmark with a beautiful gazebo, lighted tennis courts, a playground and baseball field just minutes away from your doorstep at Bay Meadows. Whether you’re looking to socialize with friends, get some much needed family time, or dance the night away, the San Mateo Central Park Series is sure to be a great time and deliver a memorable summer evening each week. Food and drink will be available to purchase.

Here is a Band Line Up for the 2022 summer series:

June 23:  Native Elements – Reggae
San Francisco powerhouse, Native Elements has been keeping the energetic, feel-good reggae tradition alive in the Bay Area for over 19 years.

June 30: Pure Ecstacy (Motown, R&B)
Preston J Turner and Pure Ecstacy have performed Motown, R&B, Jazz, Soul nationally and internationally for over fifteen years.

July 7: Forejour – 80’s
Forejour pays tribute to the music of 80’s mega bands Foreigner & Journey, recreating the soundtrack of a generation with stunning accuracy.

July 14: Flambeau (Cajun/Zydeco)
Tom Rigney and Flambeau are a hot roots music band playing Cajun, zydeco, blues, and New Orleans music.

July 21: Electric Rodeo (Country)

July 28: Julio Bravo (Latin Orchestra)

August 4: Lavay Smith and the Red-Hot Skillet Lickers (Swing)
Lavay Smith is an American singer specializing in swing and blues. She tours with her eight-piece “little big band”, Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers.

August 11: Take 2  (Party)
TK2 is a band that knocks you “on” your feet. This is an amazing 8-piece band that plays all genres of music and sound like the original artist who sang them.
