September 1- October 31st – Hit the fields for photoshoots and all the fall feels in Half Moon Bay with U-Pick Sunflowers at Andreotti Family Farms

September 1, Movies on the Square. Enjoy downtown Redwood City on Courthouse Square by bringing the family out to a free movie.

September 2, Music on the Square. Redwood City is bringing you free music from 6 to 8 pm.

September 2, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey.

September 2, Pinstripes Summer BBQ Series. Head to the Pinstripes patio for an all you can eat and drink party featuring Stone Brewery who will be pouring a collection of their beers and music by Chris Ahlman.

September 4, San Mateo Pet Club Cat / Kitten Adoption Fair. Want Kitties? They always have lots of kitties that are in need of good, loving homes.

September 9, 16, 23 + 30, Movies in the Park. Meet up with friends and neighbors for Friday night movies under the stars in San Mateo. Bring a blanket, chair, and jacket – then sit back and enjoy the show!

September 9, 16, 23 + 30,Rock N’ Roll Outdoor Live Music. Rock out for free at Hillsdale’s Outdoor Live-Music Concert Series. Relax, dine and dance to the top sounds of the 70s, 80s, 90s and the 2000s. Bring a blanket, grab a bite to eat, beverages, cocktails or beer – picnic-style. It’s a great way to enjoy the last of the warm summer evenings with family and friends.

September 10, Nights on B Street. Celebrate the return of the popular September Nights on B Street event series with free music and entertainment for the whole family! Grab take-out from a local restaurant and join outdoor pop-up dining.

September 10, Classic + Custom Car Show. Classic, custom & vintage automobiles will be displayed along with music, local vendors, food & beverages, 50/50 cash drawing & more in San Mateo.

September 10, Pub In the Park. Imagine a leisurely summer afternoon, lounging in a park, while listening to live bluegrass music, sipping delicious local brews, and enjoying lawn games in Redwood City.

September 11, Houseplant Basics. ​UC Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties have developed the “Houseplant Basics” course to help future houseplant owners get started.

September 11, Water Rocket Rally. Bring along a recycled 1- or 2-liter soda bottle or purchase a new water rocket body in the Museum’s Gift Shop and join the rocket workshop at the Hiller in San Carlos.

September 15, Nights on B Street. Celebrate September Nights on B Street event series with free music and entertainment for the whole family! Grab take-out from a local restaurant and join outdoor pop-up dining.

September 17, General Plan Open House. The City is hosting this event at the San Mateo Main Library to hear your ideas on how the City can improve conditions.

September 17, Reimagine Hillsdale Open House. This workshop is an opportunity to direct the design for the future of Hillsdale – and get more detailed about how it will look, function, and feel.

September 21, Party Cake. Students will learn proper technique and tools to level and split cakes evenly, apply buttercream smoothly, without crumbs, and then learn to cold carve buttercream.

September 22, Nights on B Street. Celebrate September Nights on B Street event series with free music and entertainment for the whole family! Grab take-out from a local restaurant and join outdoor pop-up dining.

September 23-25, FoodieLand Night Market. FoodieLand is a foodie-inspired three-day event where family and friends gather together for food and drink, shopping, and entertainment in San Mateo.

September 25, Kids Carnival. Aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more are just some of the activities available at each Hiller Kids’ Carnival in San Carlos.

September 29, CycleBar San Mateo opens in permanent location!

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.

 

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long.
