February 3, Free Pickleball Clinic. Join this complimentary pickleball clinic held by Certified PPR Professional Pickleball Instructor Kim Mark at Sports Basement in Redwood City.

February 3, Lunar New Year Celebration. Belmont’s Lunar New Year event includes a lion dance troupe and community partners in celebration of the year of the rabbit at City Hall.

February 3,  First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey.

February 3, Free First Friday. Admission is free at the SMC History Museum in Redwood City. Online, preschoolers can listen to a story and make a craft. Docents will also lead an online tour of the Museum.

February 4, 12th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration. Take in the lion dancers, martial artists, taiko drummers, and other live performances for this celebration of the Year of the Rabbit in Redwood City. Also, enjoy free admission to the San Mateo County History Museum.

February 4, Morning Hike at Lower La Honda Creek. Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a beautiful hike and experience the area’s sweeping views and gorgeous rolling grasslands.

February 4, Test drive some robots at Hillsdale Shopping Center and make a robot mask too. The students at Aragon High School Robotics Competition Team are showing off their creations from 4-6pm.

February 4, The Modern Groove Quartet’s Monthly Wine Gallery Jazz. Enjoy an evening of beautiful Jazz and World music, exquisite wine, delicious food, and other cool stuff in San Carlos.

February 4, 11, 18 and 25 College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Fall produce is here! The farmers’ tables are filled fresh flowers, baked goods, gourmet foods, honey, and everything you need for the sweetie in your life.

February 5, Straw Rocket Workshop. Each Air Rocket Blastoff features an intro to rocketry and Newton’s Third Law of Motion, including an exploration of a real JPL rocket on display at the Hiller Aviation Museum.

February 12, Football Fun Fest Day. Join the excitement of the big game as the Hiller explores the combination of football and flight in a family-friendly extravaganza! The monthly Kids’ Carnival at Hiller in San Carlos includes aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more.

February 14, Valentines’s Day Terrarium Workshop. Create your own mini living world with this stress free and relaxing experience in San Mateo.

February 15, Learn to make Drip Cake. Baking Arts in San Mateo invites you to make ganache and learn how to check consistency for the perfect “drip” and finish with buttercream rosettes and a fun dusting of sprinkles.

February 25, Free Bike Repair and Donation Drive @ City of San Mateo. Is your bike in need of a repair or tune-up? Do you have bikes or bike parts to donate? Head to Central Park to join in!

February 25, Bird Walk, Nob Hill Pond and Redwood Shores. This beginner and family-friendly bird walk in Redwood City goes to an excellent site to view a variety of ducks and other waterbirds.

February-August, College of San Mateo: 100 Years of Making Dreams Come Through. The San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City is inviting the public to view the exhibit and learn about the history of the college and how it has served the community.

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.
