March into the new season with an overflowing agenda! Celebrate spring with wildflower hikes, flower arranging, flying leprechauns, and much, much more at Bay Meadows and beyond. March 1, Flower Crown Class. Grab a girlfriend and learn the structure and design of making a gorgeous flower crown to take home. Right here in San Mateo.

March 3,  First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey.

March 3, Free First Friday. Admission is free at the SMC History Museum in Redwood City. Online, preschoolers can listen to a story and make a craft. Docents will also lead an online tour of the Museum.

March 3, Spring Wildflower Hike at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve. Join Friends of Edgewood docents for a spring wildflower hike starting from the Sylvan Trailhead at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve.

March 4, 11, 18 and 25 College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Winter produce is here! Keep an eye out for carrots, cabbage, onion, cut flowers and maybe even some Scottish Fiddlers to return this month.

March 4, The Future of Hillsdale Open House. The Reimagine Idea store is located within Hillsdale Shopping Center, on the first floor next to Nordstrom. Drop in during this open house event and the team will be on hand to hear your thoughts and concerns.

March 5, Plants for Dry Shade. Gene Fleet and Mike Craib will team up to present a selection of low-water, shade-tolerant plants that might accompany camellias and other plants in the landscape.

March 5, Kid-Friendly Hike at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve. This hike is geared for families with young children. You’ll enjoy discovering some of the interesting plants and animals that call Edgewood home.

March 8, Flower Arranging in San Carlos. Your ticket includes a gorgeous stone garden vase and an even more gorgeous box of blooms and greens to arrange during the 30 minute instructional workshop.

March 12, Flying Leprechaun Skydive!. The Luck o’ the Irish meets the Hiller Aviation Museum for a special aerial celebration in honor of St. Patrick himself! The monthly Kids’ Carnival at Hiller in San Carlos includes aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more.

March 15, Wild Flower Arrangement Class. Make a wildflower arrangement in San Mateo with lots of movement and a just picked look to celebrate spring.

March 16, Third Thursday @ CuriOdyssey. STEM networking every Third Thursday at CuriOdyssey from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

March 17, Shamrock Scavenger Hunt. Lucky the Leprechaun’s pot of gold has gone missing in Belmont and he needs your help finding it before the end of the day! Enjoy a scavenger hunt, trivia, puzzles and prizes.

March 18, Garden Steam Model Railroad. Many examples of old time model steam locomotives will be seen running on the track, all the while puffing wonderful plumes of steam at the Hiller Aviation Museum.

March 19, Sensory Sunday. Sensory Sundays at CuriOdyssey are designed for guests of all ages who are neurodivergent, have sensory sensitivities, and/or have a difficult time in large groups or museum settings.

March 22, Grapes & Giggles Comedy Show. See comedians featured on late-night TV, Comedy Central, SF Sketchfest, and more at Domenico Winery in San Carlos.

March 24, 13th Annual Salsa Festival. A weekend of world-class performances, dancing, competition and workshops with top salsa instructors in Burlingame.

March 26, Neapolitan Style Pizza. A new class from Baking Arts featuring classic pizza made with hand stretched dough in the Neapolitan style.

March 29, Mark your calendars and join us in Bay Meadows Town Square – Humphry Slocombe is OPENING! For the Grand Opening they’ll be giving out free scoops to celebrate from 1pm until 7pm.  #GiveBackwith an optional donation of $1 when you grab a free scoop. Humphry Slocombe will donate all proceeds to Project Open Hand, their ongoing charity partner. Project Open Hand’s mission is to improve health outcomes and quality of life by providing nutritious meals to the sick and vulnerable, caring for and educating our community.

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long.
