The Bay Meadows April Agenda
Get ready for an Eggcellent month in the Bay Meadows neighborhood and just beyond! From bike rides to the NEW Foster City Night Market to Easter Bunny sightings, egg hunts, bath bomb classes and downtown San Mateo’s Boba Day, when you live in a walkable, bikeable neighborhood mere steps from Caltrain, it’s easy to get from here to ‘there’ car-free! Bay Meadows Run Club with Basecamp San Mateo. Join this free fun run Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm and Saturday mornings at 8am. Meet at 3050 S. Delaware for a 2-, 3-, 4- or 6-mile loop (something for everyone) to get moving. Run, jog, or walk. Happening weekly – rain or shine. All paces and people are welcomed. Members often gather in Town Square for a Blue Bottle coffee or at Fieldwork Brewing Beer Garden after each run. Plus, there’s no fee! You heard right – membership is not required. This is a community building fun run, compliments of our neighbors at Basecamp Bay Meadows.
College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Seasonal Highlight: Citrus.
April 1-13, Downtown Parcade in Redwood City. This 18-hole mini golf course is ready to play, complete with glow-in-the-dark nighttime rounds for an extra challenge.
April 2. Foster City Night Market by Off The Grid – Weds 5 to 9 pm. Ride your bikes from Bay Meadows to the Foster City Lagoon for a fun time! Kicking off April 2 and running each Weds weekly through October 2025, just adjacent to Bay Meadows San Mateo in nearby Foster City, Off The Grid is bringing live entertainment and delicious mobile food options to the beautiful Leo Ryan Park meadow! Pet and family friendly with live entertainment.
April 4, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with live music, a food truck, animals, and fun at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo.
April 4, SMC History Museum First Fridays. Explore exhibits and enjoy additional special programs for children and adults including docent-led tours, story readings, craft projects and more in San Mateo.
April 5, Easter Bath Bomb Pressing. Join Lush for a springtime bath bomb pressing activity from 12-2pm in Macy’s Center Court at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo.
April 5, Springtime Petting Zoo. Celebrate Photos with the Easter Bunny with a special springtime petting zoo at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo.. Spend time with adorable farm animals, then snap a photo with the Easter Bunny.
April 5, Cinema & Chill (at Chill Spot Rendezvous). Hangout and enjoy family friendly movies at Chill Spot Rendezvous in San Mateo. Bring yourself and/or your family for movies throughout the day.
April 5-19, Photos With The Easter Bunny. Hop on over to Hillsdale in San Mateo for Easter Bunny Photos! From April 5 & 6, 12-19, bring the family for a festive photo with the Easter Bunny.
April 6, Organic Spring/Summer Vegetable Gardening. This San Mateo class will cover what is possible to grow and harvest in spring and summer in our area, as well as how to care for your spring/summer garden.
April 9, San Mateo Celebrates! San Mateo Delights. Music at Kohl Mansion presents the Pan-Latin quartet SUDAMERICANTO at the San Mateo Main Library which takes us on a journey through South American and Caribbean traditions with a Brazilian jazz twist.
April 13, 9th Annual Airport Runway Run. Express your need for speed with a unique 2K/5K/10K event in San Carlos that’s fun and healthy for the whole family. This is one of the most unique running, walking, and strolling experiences in the Bay Area.
April 14–May 2, Spring Teas at Fioli. Kick-off the spring season with an elegant tea service in Filoli’s Garden House in Woodside – a truly unique setting located in the middle of Filoli’s 16-acre garden in full bloom. Indulge in a decadent-tiered tower with both savory and sweet delights while sipping tea and sparkling wine.
April 16, Party Cake in San Mateo. Designed for the beginning cake decorator and those wanting to perfect their buttercream skills, Will learn proper technique and tools to level and split cakes evenly, apply buttercream smoothly, and then learn to cold carve buttercream to give flawless surfaces and crisp, sharp edges.
April 19, Eggstravaganza. Don’t miss the 48th Annual Eggstravaganza event in San Mateo’s Central Park from 9:00am-12:30pm! Enjoy a family-fun spring-themed event filled with live entertainment, egg hunts, photo opportunities, food trucks, a costume competition and more.
April 19, Easter Bunny by Helicopter. The bunny arrives by personal helicopter at 11am to the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. Get an Easter Egg straight from the Bunny and enjoy face painting, a inflatable obstacle course and model train displays.
April 26, Earth Day Bayfront Cleanup. Get ready for a fun-filled Earth Day in San Mateo as you do our part and “Team Up To Clean Up” the Bayfront! Be prepared to get dirty, have a good time, and help the environment.
April 26, Celebrate the Music Festival. Experience a range of musical performances and enjoy food from local restaurants, games, and more at Twin Pines Park in Belmont.
April 26, Weekend Workshop: Water Wonders. Explore the world of water at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo by examining its unique physical and chemical properties through fun experiments and interactive activities.
April 27, Downtown San Mateo Boba Day. Enjoy samples, deals, and special treats at your favorite Downtown San Mateo boba shops and other retailers.
April/May Sessions at Clayroom. When signing up for 6-week classes, one signs up by selecting (signing up for) the 1st class. Classes 2-6 will occur on a weekly cadence during the same day of the week and time-slot. 6-week in-studio classes for pottery.
Family Pizza Night at Bel Mateo Bowl in San Mateo. 2 hours of bowling, use of rental shoes, 1 large one topping pizza per lane and 1 pitcher of soft drink per lane on Sundays. Elevate your Friday or Saturday night with Incredibowl with interactive graphics and games projected right on the lanes! These animations interact with the ball as it rolls down the lane for a whole new bowling experience.
Trivia Night: Every other Monday at Hillsdale. Gather your pals every other Monday from 6-8pm for Trivia Night hosted by Sandcastle Entertainment! Fantastic food, beer and fun at The Refuge.
Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities. Check for holiday closures.
Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long. Whether it’s growing your own vegetables in an organic community garden, playing a game of pick-up basketball after work, team building over bocce in the beer garden, picnicking with family on warm summer nights or with a run around the park, there’s no shortage of green space to explore.
