On Saturday, August 30 from 11am–5pm, the Clay Arts Annual Summer Sale returns to Bay Meadows, and it’s your chance to browse and buy original creations from over 30 talented members and staff of Clayroom San Mateo.

Set in the charming courtyard beside the studio, this free, community event invites guests from San Mateo and beyond to explore an array of ceramics, jewelry, stickers, cards, and more, each piece lovingly crafted and entirely unique. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply love discovering local artistry, this is the day to shop small, support creatives, and connect with neighbors.

Sip, Shop, and Win
While you shop, enjoy coffee samples courtesy of our Bay Meadows neighbor Blue Bottle. And here’s a fun twist, each purchase you make from a vendor earns you a ticket for the Clayroom raffle, featuring one-of-a-kind artwork made by staff members. At the end of the event, winning tickets will be drawn and announced, so you might leave with even more than you came for.

Your Creative Outlet, Steps from Home
For Bay Meadows residents, Clayroom San Mateo is more than just a shopping destination, it’s a creative escape right in our backyard. The studio offers hands-on workshops and 6-week pottery classes for all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned makers. Imagine learning to throw a bowl, hand-build a planter, or glaze your own dinnerware just steps from your front door. With expert instructors and a welcoming community, it’s an inspiring way to unwind, meet new people, and explore your artistic side.
