Raise a Stein! Oktoberfest is Coming to Bay Meadows
Raise a stein and toast to fall, Oktoberfest is coming to Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo at Bay Meadows on Sunday, September 21 from 12–5pm.
Celebrate Oktoberfest with Fieldwork from September 20 through October 5—steins, festbier, and all the seasonal vibes.
On September 21, the neighborhood beer garden will transform into a lively celebration filled with German-inspired bites, festive tunes, games, and of course, a special brew made just for the occasion. It’s the perfect way to gather with neighbors, friends, and co-workers right here in the heart of San Mateo.
Guests can sip on Fest & Last Oktoberfest Lager, a seasonal favorite brewed with the highest quality German malts, FWB’s house German Lager yeast, and noble hops. Crisp, balanced, and deliciously malty, this lager offers notes of fresh baked bread, toasted almonds, and a soft floral finish, crafted to be both complex and crushable. Try it on draft or take home cans, and don’t miss out on the limited-edition Oktoberfest stein ($15 with fill) available during the event.
No Oktoberfest is complete without authentic food and music. The afternoon will be filled with traditional OOMPAH sounds from Bill Likens & The Oktober Schlager Band, bringing accordion, tuba, clarinet, and saxophone to life with cheerful German folk tunes. On the menu, feast on hot pretzels with beer cheese, smoked bratwursts on pretzel buns, hearty German potato salad, and creative plates like the Bratzza, topped with bratwurst, apple, caramelized onion, and sauerkraut. Every bite is designed to pair perfectly with your lager in hand.
While Oktoberfest is a seasonal highlight, Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo at Bay Meadows is a year-round community hub. With inviting firepits, bocce courts, and plenty of open-air seating, it’s a place where neighbors gather after work, families unwind on weekends, and friends linger over craft beer. Whether you’re celebrating a festival or enjoying a casual afternoon pint, Fieldwork makes it easy to feel at home in San Mateo’s favorite neighborhood beer garden.
