The first three months of electric service saw a 41% in ridership over the same three months in 2023, with Sunday ridership doubling. Since the launch of electric service in September 2024, the agency has been reporting its best ridership numbers since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recent evaluations of Caltrain’s electric fleet have revealed that it is more efficient than initially anticipated.
