Super Bowl Sunday. The greatest day in football. Super Bowl 50 will be the biggest Super Bowl the NFL has ever celebrated. And one that will be uniquely Bay Area. Super Bowl 50 will be played February 7, 2016 in the LEED Gold certified, state-of-the-art Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, which is the greenest and most technologically advanced NFL football stadium in the United States. The Bay Area will not be just hosting a Super Bowl in 2016, they’ll be redefining it. Loud, proud, inclusive and authentic, just like the Bay Area itself.

The 50th playing of the Super Bowl will kick off January 30 and run through gameday, with a weeklong series of public events held throughout the region. These events will include the NFL Experience and the Super Bowl City fan village, centered in Justin Herman Plaza, on the Embarcadero at the foot of San Francisco’s famed Market Street, featuring family-friendly activities for fans of all ages. It will offer a fun and free way for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the extravaganza that is the sporting world’s biggest annual event.

To be centered in the heart of Super Bowl City, the Fan Energy Zone celebrates the Bay Area’s leadership in technology and innovation, and will showcase the latest in interactive gaming, social media and data visualizations. The Fan Energy Zone will include three different but interlinked areas: the Fan Dome, the Fan Wall and the Fan Stage.

In the 40 foot tall Fan Dome, fans become players as they step into interactive games. Fans play as digital avatars on giant screens and their movements are replicated by motion sensors that light up the Fan Dome.

The Fan Wall is a 50-foot wide by 15-foot video wall that will capture the visual and virtual excitement of Super Bowl City. It will display the leader boards and stats from the Fan Energy Zone games, user-generated content, social media visualizations and live video feeds from around Super Bowl City.

The Fan Stage will be the “live” area of the Fan Energy Zone, serving as a presentation space for community partners, celebrity appearances and autograph signings, and the main space for the DJs and MCs.

In a break from tradition, Super Bowl City will be open for an extra weekend this year, providing many local residents the opportunity to experience the excitement of Super Bowl 50. Both Super Bowl City and the NFL Experience Driven by Hyundai will open Saturday, January 30 with the day’s activities topped off by the official re-lighting of the iconic Bay Lights on the Willie L. Brown, Jr. Bay Bridge.

The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee is focused on creating a Super Bowl that not only brings people together, but also gives back in a meaningful way and leaves a lasting impact in the Bay Area. The Host Committee seeks to make Super Bowl 50 the most giving ever, and is investing in Bay Area community initiatives and high-performing nonprofits through the 50 Fund, its signature philanthropic fund.

Gameday! 2 Teams will be battling it out in the first Super Bowl played in the Northern California since 1985. Global superstars COLDPLAY, winners of seven Grammy Awards, will perform at the PEPSI Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show. Coldplay front man Chris Martin is designing a show that will echo elements of the NFL’s On the Fifty campaign – honoring the past, recognizing the present and looking ahead to the next 50 years, including other special artists.

Everyone in attendance is sure to have the experience of a lifetime in the NFL’s most advanced stadium in the country. NFL fans across the globe can expect an experience that not only pays honor to the sport, but also to the Bay Area’s beauty, culture, and innovative spirit.
