It’s been a stand-out day in the media for San Mateo-based companies.

First, the San Francisco Chronicle published a feature on video game company Roblox. Based in the City of San Mateo, Roblox opened a door into virtual reality by making its popular youth-oriented online gaming platform compatible with the Oculus Rift headset.

Each year, the San Francisco Business Times publishes its ranked lists of largest tech employers, with dedicated lists to San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville and Richmond.

We’re pleased to report that, the scene for tech in San Mateo County has gotten so hot that the – for its first time ever – the Business Times published its “List” of largest tech in San Mateo County and the City of Palo Alto.

We thought we’d get hyper-local and pull out the five employers from the City of San Mateo specifically that made the ranks of 25 companies.
