Catch The Holiday Spirit with Hillsdale Festivities This Season
Let it glow! The tree lights are back and festivities at Hillsdale Shopping Center have never been more magical. Mere minutes from our doorstep at Bay Meadows, the spirit of the season is coming to life. See the twinkle in the eye of your wee ones at the tree and fountain light show, snap photos with Santa, decorate a Gingerbread House and now more than ever before ‘Tis the season to give! However you celebrate, we encourage you to start new family traditions, show neighbors a little extra kindness and spread some much needed love to one another.
Bring on the Lights
Hillsdale’s 2021 Tree Lighting Ceremony, hosted by Santa will take place on Friday, November 19 at 6pm in the North Block Outdoor Plaza with San Mateo Mayor Eric Rodriguez. Visitors can also experience the holiday tree and fountain light show in-person on the North Block Plaza all season long, with multiple show times daily. Catch it live again and again each weekend on the Plaza, The light show, named “Let’s Holiday Together”, runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout the holiday season from November 20 through December 19, and on Monday, December 20 and Tuesday, December 21, with show times at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
Here Comes Santa Claus
Snap a photo with Santa between Friday, November 19 through Friday, December 24. Photos will take place at Macy’s Center Court on the Lower Level and pets are welcome! The Santa Brunch is back at Pinstripes during the first three weekends of December. Get a picture with Santa while enjoying the Reindeer Waffle special and playing games at Pinstripes.
Build Something Special
The annual Gingerbread House decorating tradition begins Friday, December 3 and runs through Wednesday, December 22, from 11am to 5pm. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability.
Get on the Nice List. Giving Back is Good.
Samaritan House donations can be dropped off during shopping center hours, Friday, November 19 through Wednesday, December 22. The community is invited to donate new coats for teens and children, and non-perishable food items to benefit those in need during the holiday season. Toys, gifts and used garments will not be accepted due to pandemic precautions. Both non-perishable foods and new coats can be dropped off during mall hours. Collection bins are located Hillsdale’s Concierge locations – South End near M.A.C Cosmetics and the North Block Plaza. Toys for Tots will be accepting donations starting on Friday, December 3 through Thursday, December 23, from noon – 8pm, daily. Collection bins will be located directly across from the LEGO store.
Get Gifting
Hillsdale Shopping Center’s regular hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; holiday shopping hours extend from 9am to 9pm from December 17 to 23, and 9am to 6pm on December 24; the shopping center is closed on Christmas Day. Hillsdale Shopping Center adheres to all state and local COVID-19 guidelines and sanitation protocols to help ensure the protection of all customers, employees and tenants, and to preserve the health of neighbors and the business community. Per San Mateo County health orders, masks are required regardless of vaccination status, except when eating or drinking. Information about the preparedness protocols can be found here.
