Perfectly positioned to enjoy 360 days of sunshine between San Francisco and San Jose, The Morgan serves as a sophisticated centerpiece in San Mateo’s thriving Bay Meadows. With Town Square right outside your door, adventure is always on the menu. Head over to Fieldwork Brewing’s San Mateo Beer Garden at 3030 South Delaware Street and enjoy a pint of the finest local beer in the garden while brushing up on your bocce game.
“I really enjoyed my visit here. The Ambers and IPAs are my favorite, awesome ambience and open until about 10pm.” – Alejandra A.
Sips. Visitors can expect an ever-changing tap list of fresh releases to enjoy by sampler flight, beer by the glass, and fresh beer filled “to go” in Crowlers, growler fills, as well as limited releases of 16oz cans. Because they don’t distribute to retailers, it makes tastings in the garden even more special. Of course, you can also buy your favorite growlers to-go. A few summer specials recommendations (as available) are:
Want the Hammock Beer Life? Hammock Beer is a super crisp, dry Summer Lager that is mega crushable with notes of lime-blossom, coconut, and oak. [hops: Motueka, Sabro | 4.6%]. Hammock Beer® is available by the taster or full pour, and ready to take home by the crowler or growler refill.
Fog Ripper, Tropical Sour Ale, 5.2%. Fog Ripper is soured to the point of mouth puckering acidity and then is fermented with passion fruit, red sour cherries, oranges, limes, and Mosaic hops.
Bites. Food offerings include sandwiches, a salad, and a selection of snacks perfect to enjoy with a beer. Some of our favorite menu items to pair with your summer sipping:
Soft pretzels served with whipped garlic butter and blended mustard.
Dad Bod salad made with romaine, arugula, apples, pickled veggies, cotija, pepitas, and lemon.
Take Five sandwich made with beer braised chicken, bacon, apple, romaine, smoked cheddar, and calabrian chili aioli.
*Menu items may rotate so check-back often and be sure to snap and share your favorite pairings with us on social @baymeadowslife!
“This beer garden is one of my all-time favorite beer-guzzling locales. If you’ve never been to the San Mateo location, you are in for a real treat. The entire restaurant is outdoors. They’ve converted some big shipping containers to house booths with antique themes. This works well. The staff and bartenders also work in a big shipping container. Honestly folks, it doesn’t get any better than this. Don’t forget to try the bocce ball court.” – Chris L.
Bocce. The bocce court is back in service and open at full capacity. Check in with one of the Fieldwork Team members at the bar and they’ll get you set up with the equipment. Note: Expect changes according to health standards and be sure to abide by the latest safety recommendations.
“I really like this spot. It’s entirely outside, and a good spot to meet up with friends, bring your pups, kids, and card games.” – Ali L.
