Whole Foods – Whole Community
On February 13th, the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Mateo held the 19th Annual Business Awards. The event recognizes businesses of various sizes for their community leadership. Of the five companies recognized, Bay Meadows was thrilled to see our neighborhood’s very own Whole Foods acknowledged for its environmental philanthropy and contributions within San Mateo.
Medium Business – Whole Foods Market
The San Mateo Whole Foods Market is part of Bay Meadows Phase I and the company plays an active role in building our community. The store supports many programs at Bay Meadows, including Momdays. Whole Foods’ team members take their contributions very seriously, with causes they support including environmental preservation, organic farming/sustainable food, children’s programs and education. Since opening its doors, the San Mateo Whole Foods Market has donated over $380,000 to local non-profits and schools.
The spirit of community in San Mateo doesn’t stop with Whole Foods. We’re happy to congratulate the following businesses for their good work.
Large Business – Sutter Health Mills-Peninsula Health Services
