Bay Meadows

Named by Rand McNally’s “Best of the Road” competition as America’s “Best Small Town for Food,” San Mateo knows food and is already in love with its latest culinary addition, Amour Amour Wine Bar. The charming café recently opened in the heart of downtown San Mateo to rave reviews:

Amour Amour is a French café and wine bar specializing in wine and tapas. Its quaint accommodations include half a dozen tables and a small bar. The menu is made up of a variety of selections under the hot and cold tapas including the kabocha squash with honey butter sauce and an assortment of crostini bites, a soup of the day and a few flatbreads. They also offer cheese flights and plates, charcuterie and bite size skewers. Aside from the wine selections you can choose from mimosas, sake sangria, draft beer, cocktails, Italian sodas and gazzosas. To round out the meal you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a savory blackberry cabernet sorbet or chocolate soufflé.

The owner of Amour Amour, Simone, has a very sweet message and wish for her customers:

‘Inspired by my French and Vietnamese cultural heritage, my global travels, and a passion for healthy, happy living, Amour Amour is a dream come true – a celebration of my love for food and life. My wish is that Amour Amour becomes a place to unwind and de-stress while enjoying some of the world’s premium wines, beers, coffees, and teas along with a variety of unique tapas that embody the flavors I grew up with and those I came to love through my travels.

All our dishes are prepared with fresh, organic ingredients, including the best quality meats and locally sourced vegetables, whether it’s the rich cheeses from France, the savory sausages and intense anchovies from Spain, the flavorful prosciutto and olive oil from Italy, or the aromatic herbs and pungent fish sauce from Vietnam. And when paired with the perfect wine or beverage in the ambiance of Amour Amour, we hope to delight all of your senses! Bon appétit!’
