Sawyer Camp Trail is a Beautiful Paradise

As the days are getting longer and warmer, we wanted to share one of our favorite outdoor adventure locations. Sawyer Camp Trail is located in San Mateo County right off Skyline Blvd & Crystal Springs Rd, just about a ten minute drive from Bay Meadows. Sawyer Camp trail has a beautiful paved trail with some gorgeous scenery…

The trail is approximately twelve miles long and there are markers at each mile to let you know how far you have gone. Also, there are two lanes for north and south usage. The trail weaves along the lake, alternating between exposed, sunny patches and covered, shaded stretches.

Most days offer the opportunity to see a great deal of wildlife! One of my favorite times to visit the trails is early in the morning.  During this time, wildlife, including rabbits, coyotes, and birds, abound. If you want to take a break, there are benches to sit on, while you take in the beautiful views of the reservoir. Surrounded by nature, with animals often feeding directly off the path, you will not find a more tranquil trail.. If you’re looking for a space where you can collect your thoughts, this is your place.

Sawyer Camp Trail is definitely a secret gem for locals and tourists. Parking is relatively easy, and best part of all, it’s free to park and enter this beautiful paradise.
