Looking for ideas on how to spend Mother’s Day
May already? May is one of our busiest months, but it’s also one of our favorite months. You know that old saying, April showers bring May Flowers? Well, nowhere is that more true than the Bay Area, which is absolutely beautiful in May. It’s definitely time to get outdoors and enjoy the gorgeous weather. More importantly, May 8th is Mother’s Day!
We’ve learned everything we know from our moms, and this Mother’s Day it’s time to show her that we know how to treat her right!
For this Mother’s Day, we wanted to share with you all of the special places in and around San Mateo where you can spoil your mom on her special day.
Who doesn’t love an opportunity to relax, unwind, and indulge? Give mom the gift of indulgence at Kanna Spa. Kanna Spa specializes in all types of massages, body wraps, facials, and if she only has a couple hours to spare, they do wonderful manicures and pedicures.
Is your mom the fitness type? Check out the new Barre Studio in downtown San Mateo. Barre combines ballet, yoga, and pilates, and the Barre3 Studio is a stunning space that offers 60-minute classes for fast body shaping. Does your mom love baking? Then it’s time to get your baking on at Baking Arts in downtown San Mateo. Baking Arts is a baker’s paradise that offers fun and interactive classes. They also sell every baking essential you could ever need in the kitchen. Check out their class schedule here.
Or, maybe your mom is the wine and dine type. There are so many amazing eateries all around San Mateo, you can definitely find a place to perfectly suit her taste. Some of our favorites are 31st Union, Osteria Coppa, and All Spice, just to name a few. Be sure to call ahead first and make a reservation. Mother’s Day is a popular night to eat out.
Does she love the outdoors? A favorite local spot is the San Francisco Bay Trail. The Trail has beautiful sweeping ocean views, is fully paved, and, best of all, it’s mainly flat. The views at sunset are especially spectacular. We recommend packing a little picnic and enjoying the sunset.
