Bay Meadows welcomes San Mateo parents for some family-friendly shenanigans every Monday 3-5pm at Paddock Park. August: 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29.

Twilight Tails at Landing Green Park. Residents and friends of Bay Meadows are invited to join us every Thursday from 5-6pm for our dog-friendly community event, “Twilight Tails.”  Join us on August 4th to meet Tom Chapman, former Jockey that raced at Bay Meadows and now devoted artist.

Showcasing the diverse Bay Area music scene, the Central Park Music Series is a signature summer event that brings you free live music every Thursday evening. August: 4, 11 & 18 from 6-8pm.

Music on the Square 2016 in Redwood City is one of the most treasured nights of summer. Every Friday from 6-8pm. August: 5, 12, 19 & 26.

Foster City’s popular Summer Concert Series is a great way to enjoy music in a beautiful lagoon side setting in Leo Ryan Park on a Friday Night. August: 5, 12, & 19 from 6-8pm.

DIG It Herb Gardening Class. From thyme and tarragon to sage and savory, learn how to grow, maintain, and harvest all your favorite culinary herbs at our monthly Edible Gardening classes hosted by Homestead Design Collective on Saturday, August 6th from 1-2pm.

Explore the list of 50th Anniversary Japanese Garden Celebrations including the Tea Ceremony on August 7th from 1-4pm and Kids Day on August 13th.

AutoCon is the most awaited car show of the year and coming to the San Mateo Event Center on August 13th.

Brush up on your Bike Skills 102 — Fundamental Mountain Bike Skills in Belmont on August 13th. Learn to rock, roll, hop, and jump. Master the art of steep climbs. Learn to descend with confidence and skill.

Free Shakespeare In The Park, The Winters Tale at Sequoia High School in Redwood City from Aug 13-28 on Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 4:00pm.

Pop Up Yoga Class in Paddock Park. Kick off your shoes and spread out your mat for an outdoor yoga class with Kathrin from Nandi Yoga of San Mateo to strengthen your mind, body and soul on August 24th at 6pm.

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City from August 25-September 18.

Head to Washington Park in Burlingame for Movie in the Park on August 26th. Inside Out is showing.

Join the San Mateo Fire Department at The San Mateo Chili Cook Off in Central Park and vote for your favorite Chili on August 27th! Pssst! Mark your calendars for ‪#RHRU on Sept 17th and challenge the San Mateo City Fire Department in our Spicy Wings Contest!

A portion of RHRU proceeds will be donated to the San Mateo Parks Foundation and to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, a burn prevention and education charity championed by the San Mateo Fire Department. While you’re eating and heating up, help raise money for these good causes by entering the Spicy Wings Contest, emceed by NBC Bay Area’s Mike Inouye. Test your heat palate against other firefighters of the San Mateo Fire Dept in the contest and get a shot at winning the grand prize of a weekend at Calistoga Hot Springs.

Sway to the sounds of the Symphony at Sunset on the Burton Park Stage in San Carlos on August 27th. The memorable program will include symphonic arrangements of the Beatles greatest hits.
Looking to mix up your fitness routine? Meet your neighbors and enjoy the fresh air with pop-up fitness and yoga classes at Bay Meadows. Or maybe mixing it up with your pooch is more your style. Twilight Tails, Thursdays 5-6 pm at Landing Green Park, is a chance to meet other dog-owners and hear about local pet resources. Is gardening more your speed? Our monthly Dig It! Workshops in Persimmon Park are free and open to the public.
