Looking to rent where the Caltrain station is just a walk away but not sure if your tastes run toward a serene, pampering retreat? Maybe you’re more the energized type who likes to be part of the action? Perhaps you prefer to kick back and get comfy by the fire-pits before calling it a night?
We’ve got all these choices of apartments available for you at Bay Meadows (just scroll down all the way to see photos of the models for our newest apartment buildings) PLUS we’ve got a friendly team to help find a home that fits you like a glove! Danielle, Joanne, Lucia and Sarah are the Bay Meadows Apartment Collection Leasing Team and they’re here to guide you every step of the way.
We chatted up this friendly group, who enjoyed laughing together, sharing their favorite neighborhood tips and are always excited to welcome visitors to Bay Meadows’ three apartment communities: Field House, The Russell and Quimby. Allow us to introduce you to each of the members and hear what they feel is special about Bay Meadows.
DANIELLE
Danielle moved here from San Francisco and is thrilled to live at Bay Meadows, particularly for one unexpected aspect: “You can hear the birds chirp in the morning, it’s that quiet and peaceful!”
Having worked in property management in other regions, Danielle says, “You always know what kind of community it is if you look at the parks and there’s activity, teams playing sports, kids on the jungle gyms, families enjoying the day.” That’s a common sight in Bay Meadows’ 18 acres of parks and open space.
What’s special about the community here? “People here just really enjoy life. They’re friendlier.”
Little-known San Mateo tip: “Paul Martin’s American Grill at the Hillsdale Shopping Center. One of the best kept secrets is their daily Happy Hour, 3PM-7PM. They’ve got a delicious Raspberry Martini. My friend took the train from the city, hopped off, met me for drinks and hopped back on the train.”
SARAH
Sarah loves how Bay Meadows is “like its own little town and everyone here is so friendly.”
What do you like about helping people lease a home? “I always put myself in their shoes, try to really understand what they’re looking for and what would best suit them. That’s a really rewarding process, to find them their ideal home.”
Any favorite San Mateo dining spots? Kingfish in downtown San Mateo, especially for their clam chowder.
JOANNE
Having moved from San Francisco, Joanne also appreciates Bay Meadows’ mix of quiet, safe streets combined with walkability and good places to eat.
One big difference from life in San Francisco? “The weather! People don’t realize how warm and sunny it is down here!”
Joanne also noted that Bay Meadows is central to everything, especially coffee options, such as Peet’s and Starbucks and, soon, residents will have the option of Blue Bottle Coffee right next door to the apartments.
LUCIA
Lucia lives in San Mateo now, but had also lived in San Francisco. She notes that it’s a relief to not have as much traffic down here, yet she’s still so close to conveniences. “Having Whole Foods right here is a huge perk!”
Little-known fact about the community? “The Caltrain Baby Bullet train stops right here at the Hillsdale Caltrain Station! People don’t realize that that train doesn’t stop everywhere. It’s an express and it goes much more quickly than the other trains!”
Favorite thing about doing your job here everyday? “One thing I love seeing is all the dog-owners playing with their dogs and all the open space and parks we have here!”
