The Bay Meadows April Agenda

This April putt around, hike through the wildflowers, create edible container gardens, learn how to make a mousse cake, celebrate Easter with the bunny arriving by helicopter, catch one of the many egg hunts, and much, much more at Bay Meadows and beyond. Get rolling this April on Bicycle Sundays. (except April 17 ) A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 every Sunday allowing for non-motorized activities including jogging, bicycling, hiking, roller-skating, and walking.

Saturdays 9am to 1pm, shop the College of San Mateo Farmers Market. The farmers’ tables are filling up with spring greens like lettuce, green onions, kale, broccoli, spinach, and more! You’ll also find delicious gourmet foods, flowers, cheeses, olive oil, and so much more.

Sundays 9am to 1pm, shop the Belmont Farmers Market. The market is full of green this month! Find leafy greens, broccoli, spinach, green onions, and more!

April 1, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month, from 5 pm until 8 pm, where parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey.

April 1, Free First Friday at the San Mateo County History Museum. Online, preschoolers can listen to a story and make a craft. Docents will also lead an online tour of the Museum for adults.

April 2-16, Easter Bunny Photos at Hillsdale. Kids can visit with everyone’s favorite hip-pity hop-pity bunny. Photo packages start at around $25, and kids receive a free gift just for stopping by. Pets get their turn too!

April 3, Putt’n Around Mini Golf in Downtown Redwood City. This fun pop-up recreation activity will bring back your favorite mini-golf memories!

April 5, 12, 19, 26, Yoga in the Bungalow – Redwood City. This one-hour class is intended to increase your flexibility, strength, and balance.

April 7, Spring Wildflower Hike at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve. Join Friends of Edgewood docents for a spring wildflower hike starting from the Sylvan Trailhead in Redwood City.

April 9, Easter DIY slime workshop. Join the Slime Kitchen at Hillsdale for an Easter Workshop on how to make an Easter Egg Butter Slime. You’ll get to mix in the clay and make your slime smooth and buttery with cool scents and mix-ins, toppers and your very own easter basket with treats.

April 10, ​​Edible Container Gardening. Learn to grow almost anything in containers with the San Mateo Arboretum Society. The session will cover the right materials and techniques for a bountiful harvest.

April 10, Kids’ Carnival. Join the excitement with aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more at the Hiller in San Carlos.

April 11-15, Golden Egg Hunt in Belmont. Belle the Bunny has hidden golden eggs at 5 very special Belmont parks! A new clue will be posted on social media by noon each day.

April 16, Eggstravaganza in San Mateo. Join the 45th Annual Eggstravaganza event in Central Park for a fun spring-themed event filled with entertainment, egg hunts, photo opportunities, and more!

April 16, Easter Bunny Arrives by Helicopter! Join the Easter Eggstravaganza at the Hiller in San Carlos. Get an Easter Egg straight from the Bunny and enjoy face painting, a bounce house, and a model train display.

April 16, Hiking Huddart Park in Woodside. Join Greenbelt Alliance for a hike through the forests and canyons of Huddart Park! This is an easy hike of 3 miles round trip with about 400 feet in elevation gain.

April 17, Easter Brunch at Pinstripes. Head to Pinstripes at Hillsdale Shopping Center with the family for your Easter Sunday celebration. The Sunday Brunch Buffet includes a Signature Waffle Station, Carving Station, Sweets Table and more. Don’t forget about our Bottomless Mimosas and Aperol Spritzes! The Easter Bunny will also be making a special appearance to hand out special treats and take pictures with the kids. RSVP today! 

April 22,23, Spring Tour at Gamble Garden. Gamble Garden’s popular annual Spring Tour in Palo Alto is back in-person for 2022. Celebrate Spring at Gamble Garden with a tour of five beautiful homes and gardens, carefully curated to inspire and delight. Tickets are sold in advance here.

April 22-24, Hillsborough Antiques Art Design Show. Featuring over 150 premier exhibitors from across the U.S., Canada and Europe offering fine antiques and decorative arts representing all design movements.

April 23-24, Hiller Aviation Family Weekend at Hillsdale. Hiller Aviation Museum soars into Hillsdale for a weekend of adventure in aviation discovery. Kids can climb aboard a life-size Bede5 aircraft, take apart and assemble a full-size Penguin plane, dive into aeronautical interactives and learn about vertical flight in the seat of a Scorpion helicopter. Hours of non-stop fun!

April 23, 10th Annual Earth Day Event. Head to Belmont and as they mark this wonderful environmental milestone to celebrate the 10th year anniversary for the Belmont Annual Earth Day Event.

April 30, Mousse Cake Entremet and Mirror Glaze Workshop. Join Baking Arts for a two day mousse cake entremet class. Students will create a dark chocolate toffee mousse cake on a genoise sponge as well as learn to formulate and use two types of mirror glaze.

Save the Date: May 1st! The Mavericks Festival will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. In addition to local seafood, music, vendor booths, and drinks, the focus of the community event will be on Mavericks, the athletes, water safety, and environmental education.
