The Bay Meadows July Agenda

Summer is in full swing! We’ve rounded up an agenda packed with fun including summer markets and music concerts, Independence Day celebrations, dance classes, baking workshops, movies in the park, and much, much more at Bay Meadows and beyond. July 1-2, FoodieLand Night Market. Inspired by the famous open-air night markets of Asia, FoodieLand Night Market is a family-friendly outdoor food festival that returns to San Mateo at the San Mateo Event Center next door to Bay Meadows.

July 1, 8.15, 22, 29,  College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Summer produce is here! Keep an eye out for peaches, cherries, apricots, summer squash, onions, leafy greens, local honey, citrus, and so much more!

July 2, 9, 16, 23 + 30, Summer Concert Series. Enjoy a free family-friendly Summer Concert Series in beautiful Twin Pines Park in Belmont on Sundays.

July 4, Salsa On2 Dance Classes. Enjoy learning to dance salsa in a very fun and friendly atmosphere at Motion Arts Center in San Mateo.

July 4, An Old-Fashioned Fourth. Create holiday crafts from the 1880s including pinwheels and paper parachutes at the SMC History Museum in Redwood City.

July 5-August 23, Music in the Park. Free music throughout the summer in Redwood City each Wednesday. All proceeds benefit the Save the Music program in Redwood City Schools.

July 5, Happy Birds. This elite team of parrots, macaws and cockatoos takes wing for a dazzling performance featuring wild and trained behaviors of all sorts at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos.

July 6-August 10, Central Park Music Series. Central Park Music Series is a signature summer event that brings you eight evenings of free live music every Thursday evening in San Mateo.

July 6-August 31, Movies on the Square. Head to Downtown Redwood City for a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience with two showings of family-friendly, independent, and feature films, alternating each week.

July 7, Free First Friday. Admission is free at the SMC History Museum in Redwood City. Online, preschoolers can listen to a story and make a craft.

July 7, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo.

July 7, Tequila & Terrarium Night. Uplift your week with a tequila and terrarium building class in San Mateo.

July 7-September 1, Music on the Square. Celebrate the summer on Friday evenings at Redwood City’s Courthouse Square with top-quality local and national musical performers.

July 8, Live Music at MidiCi. Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine while indulging in great music in San Mateo.

July 9, Nature Outing. Head to Waterdog Lake Open Space in Belmont with their plant scientist and ecologist Keegan Pham as you identify native and non-native plants and much more.

July 9, Robot Faire 2023. This kids friendly tech festival features robot construction workshops, robot competition events, and robot talent shows at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo.

July 9, Conserve My California Water Save Water Every Day. The presentation at the San Mateo Arboretum Society will provide an overview of the program in San Mateo.

July 11, 18, 25,  25th Avenue San Mateo Farmers Market is back Tuesdays 3-7pm running through October 24th 2023. Greet the growers and find summer greens, summer squash, and cucumbers to cherries, peaches, and berries. Find prepared foods, baked goods, and more, too!

July 14, Sushi Making Class & Friday Dinner. You will make spicy tuna from scratch at Devil’s Canyon Brewing in San Carlos – so fresh it will blow your taste buds away.

July 14, International Gem & Jewelry Show. Shop from rows and rows of quality jewelry, gemstone, bead, jewelry supply and accessory dealers at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo.

July 15, Pub In the Park. Redwood City’s Pub in the Park offers a laid-back space to hang out with friends and family and enjoy some cold ones.

July 22, Fitness Festival By Cycle Bar. Featuring local vendors, live fitness classes, and more at Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo.

July 23, Sounds of the Shores. Enjoy the beautiful summer weather while listening to live music performances by talented local artists from the water’s edge of the Redwood Shores lagoon in Redwood City.

July 28, 15th San Francisco Intl Bachata Festival. Head to San Mateo as SFIBF is celebrates its 15th year anniversary for being the first bachata festival in the USA.

July 28, ART on the Square. Treat yourself to unique and original creations by fabulous local artists in Redwood City.

July 29, Japanese Whipped Cream Roll Cake Workshop. Attendees will bake from scratch a “no crack” vanilla chiffon roll cake at Baking Arts in San Mateo.

July 30, Kids Carnival. Aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more are just some of the activities available at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos.

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long.
