Doggoween Returns to Bay Meadows Oct 26 – A Spooktacular Day for Pups and People!

Bay Meadows is howling with good times! Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 26 from 1–3pm as Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo brings back its beloved Doggoween celebration to the Bay Meadows Beer Garden. This annual event is one of our favorite fall traditions, where pups in costume take center stage and the whole community comes out to cheer, laugh, and celebrate our four-legged friends. Whether you’re a Bay Meadows resident, a local visitor, or simply a dog lover, Doggoween is the perfect way to enjoy a fall afternoon of tail wags, cold brews, and good company.

At Bay Meadows, being dog-friendly isn’t just a tagline, it’s part of our lifestyle. From the sprawling parks and walking paths to pet-welcoming retailers with patios for dining alongside your bestie like Bahche Mezzehouse and Wine Bar, Blue Bottle Cafe at Bay Meadows, The Breakfast Club at Midtown — San Mateo, Sidewalk Juice San Mateo, and Fieldwork Brewing, our neighborhood was designed with furry family members in mind. The Beer Garden is a favorite hangout for residents and their pups, offering plenty of outdoor space, fresh air, and a relaxed vibe. Doggoween celebrates that spirit perfectly, turning our local taproom into a parade ground of creativity, costumes, and community fun.

Think your pup has what it takes to fetch first place? To enter the Doggoween Costume Contest, simply sign in at the taproom when you arrive. Dogs must be present and in costume and participate in the parade to be eligible for prizes. Judging will be based on popular vote — so bring your cheering squad! Prizes include a $50 Fieldwork gift card for 1st place, $25 for 2nd, and $10 for 3rd. Whether your dog’s dressed as a superhero, sushi roll, or pint-sized pumpkin, the crowd’s applause could earn them the top spot (and a few extra belly rubs).

Need a little creative spark? Go classic with a vampire cape or skeleton onesie, or get playful with Bay Meadows-inspired looks — a mini brewer, a Caltrain conductor, or even a “paw-kin spice latte.” Couples costumes are always a hit too (think owner-and-dog duos like hot dog and ketchup or pilot and copilot). However you dress them, Doggoween is all about having fun and celebrating the pets that make our community feel like home. So grab your leash, your best costume ideas, and your camera to tag @baymeadowslife — we’ll see you and your pup at Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo on October 26 for Doggoween at Bay Meadows!
