Life at Bay Meadows continues to evolve, and with it comes fresh faces who help shape the experience of living in our walkable San Mateo neighborhood. This fall, we’re excited to welcome Brian, the new General Manager for the Bay Meadows Apartment Collection. Originally from Maryland, Brian relocated in 2023 to help Bozzuto expand on the West Coast. December will mark 13 years with Bozzuto, years filled with award-winning work, including honors for social media and online reputation. A lifelong learner, Brian is an avid reader and audiobook enthusiast who brings both passion and expertise to his role. His go-to pick-me-up from Sidewalk Juice? An Almond Butter Toast paired with a Peach Mango Smoothie!

As General Manager, Brian oversees the operations of all five buildings within the Bay Meadows Apartment Collection, ensuring residents enjoy a seamless and elevated living experience. Every day brings something new, whether it’s leading leasing and maintenance efforts, partnering with vendors, or walking the community to make sure each space feels polished and welcoming. But what stands out most to him are the relationships he creates. “The relationships I get to build and experience while working at communities is the most rewarding aspect of my job,” Brian shares. “I’m still connected with people that were at my first community over a decade ago.”

What drew Brian to Bay Meadows is what so many residents love as well: the everyday ease and livability. “The best part about life at Bay Meadows is the quiet, clean nature of the community with easy access to everything you could need,” he says. From Town Square favorites like Blue Bottle Coffee, Fieldwork Brewing, and Bahche Mezze & Wine Bar to the convenience of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, everything is just a stroll or bike ride away. Add in pocket parks, miles of trails, and dog-friendly paths, and it’s no surprise that Brian often enjoys the neighborhood alongside his wife and their 10-year-old pup, Smokey. “I really like Bay Meadows Park and getting to walk around the pond with my wife and senior pup… She loves sharing her smiles and kisses with anyone that looks at her. Or ignores her. Or is in her general vicinity,” he laughs.

When asked what makes The Apartment Collection at Bay Meadows stand apart, Brian says it best: “Variety is the spice of life and having multiple options between our five buildings while still being one community makes the Apartment Collection at Bay Meadows stand apart.” Each building offers its own personality and amenity mix, but all are united by an intuitive walkable layout and a warm, neighborly spirit. Bozzuto Management’s unique perks amplify that experience, including the Away From Home program, where the team can hold mail, water plants, or visit pets while residents travel. It’s one of many thoughtful touches that make apartment residents of Bay Meadows feel genuinely cared for.

Outside of work, Brian is often out exploring, whether on a nature trail, discovering a new winery, or visiting pop-up expos around the Peninsula. And residents can look forward to more ways to explore their own neighborhood too. “I’m a huge fan of getting our local businesses and restaurants involved with community events,” he hints. From collaborations with Bay Meadows favorites to fresh, seasonal gatherings, there’s plenty to look forward to as Brian helps shape the next chapter of the Bay Meadows community experience.
