Bay Meadows July Agenda

Get ready to enjoy a full month of activities in the Bay Meadows neighborhood and beyond. We’ve rounded up an agenda packed with 4th of July fun, live music concerts along the SF Peninsula, local movies in the park, the Robot Fair, downtown San Mateo Restaurant Walk and much more. July 3, 6, 10, 10, 17, 20, 24, 27, 31, Bay Meadows Run Club with Basecamp San Mateo. Join this free fun run Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm and Saturday mornings at 8am. Meet at 3050 S. Delaware for a 2-, 3-, 4- or 6-mile loop (something for everyone) to get moving. Run, jog, or walk. Happening weekly – rain or shine. All paces and people are welcomed. Members often gather in Town Square for a Blue Bottle coffee or at Fieldwork Brewing Beer Garden after each run. Plus, there’s no fee! You heard right – membership is not required. This is a community building fun run, compliments of our neighbors at Basecamp Bay Meadows!

July 6, 13, 20, 27, College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Bring a big shopping bag or two because the farmers’ tables are filled with everything you need, from the freshest summer fruits and vegetables like berries, corn, tomatoes, peppers, peaches, and summer squash to delightful extras like cut flowers, local honey, jams and sauces, locally-made olive oil, and chocolates. Also find fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, cheeses, and seafood. Summer’s best is here! Keep an eye out for this Seasonal Highlight: Cucumbers.

July 2, lululemon Hillsdale Run Club. Join the Run Club at lululemon just next door to Bay Meadows at Hillsdale Shopping Center San Mateo for a fun and energetic in-person running/walking event.

July 2, The Art of Pasta Sauces. Join Classpop in Belmont with Chef Yosef and learn how to craft amazing food.

July 3, Trivia Night @ Blue Oak Brewing Co. Gather your friends and head over to San Carlos to enjoy a night of brain-teasing questions, delicious craft beers, and great company.

July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, Music in the Park. Families and friends will enjoy our free outdoor concert series in the relaxing setting of beautiful Stafford Park in Redwood City. Through August 21.

July 4, 4th of July in the Park. Wear your best red, white, & blue and enjoy a lovely day at Central Park in San Mateo from 11am to 2pm with food trucks, crafts and a concert. Club 90 (Party) will be playing from 12-2pm.

July 4, An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July. Celebrate An Old-Fashioned Fourth! Watch the Redwood City Parade. Then, come inside the History Museum to make Independence Day crafts and view films from the Archives.

July 4, 11, 18, 25, Central Park Music Series. This summer event brings music lovers free live music every Thursday evening. Enjoy a night of music, dancing, food, and fun in downtown San Mateo’s Central Park. Through August 8.

July 5, First Friday. The San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City will be open without admission fees the first Friday of every month as part of its continuing “FREE First Fridays” program.

July 6, Ballet Barre Class. Get ready to unleash your inner ballerina and tone your body in a fun and energetic way in San Mateo.

July 7, 14, 21, 28, Summer Concert Series. Enjoy a free family-friendly Summer Concert Series in beautiful Twin Pines Park in the City of Belmont from 1-4pm.

July 9, Lions Club 10th Annual Downtown San Mateo Restaurant Walk. Enjoy sampling cuisine from participating downtown San Mateo eateries.

July 11, Wine Edutainment Series: Nor Cal Road Trip in a Glass. Taste and Learn about the local winemaking regions of Amador, Lodi, Livermore, Contra Costa, and Santa Cruz at Domenico Winery in San Carlos.

July 11, 18, 25, Waterdog Hikes. Explore the beauty of Belmont’s open space on a hike led by a member of the park staff who has a wealth of knowledge about Waterdog Lake and Open Space.

July 12, International Gem & Jewelry Show. Shop from rows and rows of quality jewelry, gemstone, bead, jewelry supply and accessory dealers at our neighboring San Mateo County Event Center.

July 13, Jazz on B Street. Jazz on B Street in downtown San Mateo features the talented saxophonist Naveen Schwarzkopf Quartet from the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars Big Band.

July 13, August 3, September 7, Pub in the Park. Enjoy a stocked British-style pub in Redwood City with quality beers and ciders on tap.

July 14, Robot Fair 2024. Head to the San Mateo County Event Center just next door to Bay Meadows and geek out at Robot Fair 2024 – where you can see the coolest robots in action and meet fellow tech enthusiasts.

July 19, Sunset Walk at Bair Island. Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a walking tour at the Bair Island Unit of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Redwood City.

July 20, Fit Fest 2024. Celebrate the 2nd annual Fitness Festival at San Mateo’s Hillsdale Shopping Center in the North Block with free workouts powered by Lululemon.

July 20, Christmas in July. Get ready to celebrate Christmas in July with getting a head start on your holiday cards in San Mateo.

July 20, Belmont Blooms. Celebrate Parks Make Life Better Month at the first annual ‘Belmont Blooms’ gardening event at the Barrett Community Center Garden.

July 21, Redwood Symphony. Redwood Symphony brings to life some of the greatest music ever written in a way that only a live performance can, in Redwood City.

July 21, August 18, Kids Rock! MCd by Redwood City’s own, Andy-Z, the Master of Music and Play, this series brings high energy and tons of fun to both kids and adults on Courthouse Square in Redwood City.

Thru August 30, Music on the Square. Enjoy music on Friday evenings in Redwood City. With top-quality local and national musical performers — from rock and reggae, to Americana and much more— music fans of all ages will be thrilled to discover and enjoy the most popular summer concert series on the Peninsula.

Rock the Dock Concert Series. Lounge on the Redwood City waterfront and enjoy live music, dancing, food and fun! Rock the Dock concerts run every Saturday through November 2024.

Trivia Night: Every other Monday at Hillsdale. Gather your pals every other Monday from 6-8pm for Trivia Night hosted by Sandcastle Entertainment! Fantastic food, beer and fun at The Refuge.

Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities. Check for holiday closures.

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long. Whether it’s growing your own vegetables in an organic community garden, playing a game of pick-up basketball after work, team building over bocce in the beer garden, picnicking with family on warm summer nights or with a run around the park, there’s no shortage of green space to explore.
