Adding extra smiles on top, Sibby’s Cupcakery specializes in custom cupcakes made the old-fashioned way, baked to order from scratch. The cupcakery was founded in 2004 but Sibby began her baking career at age 4, making blueberry-peach pies with her mother in Topeka, Kansas. Sibby’s has been called “the cupcake center of the universe”. And because you can never have too much of a good thing, try Sibby’s 6 pack Sampler with signature flavors. You can order online, pick up or have them delivered – it doesn’t get much easier than that.

Mosey down about a mile and a half to Yumi Yogurt and get your froyo fix! Stop by and delight in a soft serve swirl of frozen yogurt at Yumi, with daily flavor changes you’ll want to keep going back for more. Yumi also offers carbolite and wow cow brand yogurts. You can download their app for weekly coupons, daily flavors and more. (Hint: You may run into a neighbor, this is a popular spot among Bay Meadows residents!)

Making San Mateo even sweeter is Sharona’s Chocolate shop, just a few miles from your doorstep at Bay Meadows. The shop was founded by Sharona Sasounian in 2008. From handmade high-end flavorful chocolates to truffles and strawberries to covered apples, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth in Sharona’s Shop. They also import from Belgium and all over the world for a convenient one stop shop for your taste buds and gift giving needs. This local gem is a perfect destination for gifts or just for yourself to get your chocolate fix for the day.

Known as the bakery of the “World’s Best Cream Puffs,” Beard Papa’s whips up signature cream puffs in a range of flavors. With delicious cream puff flavors like cherries jubilee, milk chocolate, green tea and honey to almond praline, you’ll have a hard time deciding which ones to indulge in. You may want to start with the one that started it all – the classic vanilla starts with imported vanilla beans that are rolled into a creamy custard and layered with whipped real cream.

Craving a cannoli? Romolo’s Cannoli are among the best in the world! Hand crafted with premium ingredients, these desserts represent three generations of expertise.
