Release some creative energy at one of the many event offerings at The Shop at Flywheel Press.

Pick up glow in the dark discs or a badminton or bocce set from Talbots Toyland and head to Bay Meadows Park for some family-friendly fun.

Brush up on culture and history with the FREE First Fridays at the San Mateo County History Museum, Admission is free the first Friday of every month – explore the museum, enjoy playing in the past and a General tour.

Get involved in the future of San Mateo: Support San Mateo County Bicycle Sunday. Bicycle Sunday allows Cañada Road to be enjoyed by all free of automobile traffic. It runs every Sunday from 9:30am – 3:00pm or attend Taste and Talk, a series of speaker forums sponsored by the City of San Mateo.

Join a Meetup Group to mix with new neighbors who are interested in downtown San Mateo art, kid-friendly fun or meeting others that are new to the area.

Meet the Maker, just nextdoor at the May Maker Faire, San Mateo Events Center.

Grab a friend and sample the namesake craft cocktail at Mortar & Pestle Bar, served in a mortar, made with vintage bourbon, Demerara sugar and finished with lemongrass, rose syrup, mint and kaffir lime leaves.

Catch a live music concert in the grass (with blanket in tow) at Central Park during the Annual Central Park Music Series.

Shop fresh to live music at the Saturday College of San Mateo Farmers Market, open every Saturday 9-1. Take home and try out a new recipe from Cookin’ the Market and pick up an orchid from Challenge Horticulture (Half Moon Bay Orchids) to adorn the home.

Try a family yoga class at Nandi Yoga, offered on the weekends and open to all ages, with a focus on children 2-7 years old.

Gather the girls and mix with other women in business at Sip, Support & Socialize: Monthly Women’s Mixer in Downtown San Mateo, held every last Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7:00pm, hosted by a different Downtown San Mateo business.
