We love San Mateo! Do you? Show us what you love in photos before Jan 1, 2016. The submissions are rolling in for Local Love – Fame by Frame, a San Mateo photo contest designed to showcase what you love about life here at Bay Meadows and beyond. The casting call is wide open and the Grand Prize of $500 will be awarded in 2016, as guests are invited to cast a live vote for their favorite image at the Annual Photo Exhibit Event! Everyone is welcome to participate and show some local pride for the city we call “home”. Here’s How. Spotlight San Mateo events, send a shout out to your favorite chefs or shopkeepers, showcase our hometown public art, places you play, and your favorite outdoor destinations on the Peninsula within San Mateo County. The public art in Persimmon Park by Evan Shively has been a popular San Mateo spot to snap selfies, curl up with a good book and use as a backdrop to family and photos of our furry-friends. We love the artistic lighting framework and colors in this lovely photo.

Late summer and fall sky colors were amazing this year. We’ve never seen such spectacular sunrises and sunsets in the Bay Area. This photo perfectly captures some fun at dusk in Bay Meadows Park.

Pop-up Zumba and Bootcamp classes have proven to be a popular way to begin the week in San Mateo! Classes are led weekly on Mon + Tues at Paddock Park by our local friends at Reborn Fitness. This snap is a lovely example of friendship, teamwork and community.

What an “Incredible Family”! This fun family got into the spirit of Halloween. Way to dress up and strike a pose. They won the treat of the month, our October prize – a $50 gift card at Whole Foods Market San Mateo!

Late summer BBQs, Persimmon Park Pop-up dinners with Peninsula  based chefs and craft beer tastings by local favorite, Grape & Grain, were a big hit this season! We love this photo that SF Dads Group captured at a beer tasting in the garden.
