Tin Pot Creamery Now Serving Smiles
Tin Pot Creamery fans who line up out the door at shops in Palo Alto, Campbell and Los Gatos, now have a new, roomier location to flock to. Tin Pot is now open daily, 12-9, serving up smiles at its scoop shop at Bay Meadows.
Fresh off of Fieldwork Brewing beer garden’s recent opening, residents, workers and visitors to Bay Meadows can now enjoy sophisticated, artisan ice cream across the way. The shop celebrated its grand opening in September.
Visitors chimed in with praise. Chamaine of Burlingame said, “There’s a great flavor selection and very creamy texture. I went with the salted butterscotch and Earl Grey in a waffle cone. The cone itself was crisp and had a chocolate nugget on the bottom as a sweet surprise ending.”
Cups, cones, or waffle bowls are available, as well as packed pints to enjoy at home. A must-have among the kiddos? That would be the Birthday Cake flavor, ideally in a waffle cone!
Lavender lemon poppy ice cream, anyone? And talk about handcrafted! At Tin Pot Creamery, even the chocolate chips included in Mint Chip ice cream are made in-house.
And who would expect anything less from an ice-cream obsessed former Facebook pastry chef? Tin Pot owner Becky Sunseri, the daughter of “artistic, hippie-like parents,” wrote her first ice cream recipe at age 15.
“Ice cream represents a lot of joy for me and a vehicle for creative expression,” said Becky.
With a degree in nutrition from Cornell, Becky then went to pastry school in San Francisco where she perfected the craft of making muffins, scones, granola and tartlets. She worked in restaurants and bakeries
for a few years before connecting with someone at Facebook who proclaimed, “We need some really good ice cream on the Peninsula.”
It was just the inspiration Becky needed and meant a connection to her inner-kid who was obsessed with ice cream. She landed on a vision for Tin Pot that would make kids smile, but also bring joy to adults.
“I feel Tin Pot is really unique in that way, because we offer something for adults, as well as for kids,” Becky noted.
Tin Pot products include scoops in cones, with toppings, in cups, for grab-and-go or to linger and enjoy. Baked goods and ice cream sandwiches are on the menu, too. In addition to its organic dairy-rich products, Tin Pot also offers dairy-free and gluten-free options, as well as nut-free goodies.
Stop by Tin Pot Creamery soon … before everyone catches on and the lines are, once again, out the door!
