Opt Outdoors, San Mateo Parks Reopen for Summer
With the new San Mateo County Health Order, more Parks and Recreation amenities are re-opening! Dogs will be howling for joy, families will be planning picnics and those summer Saturday beer and bocce games will begin commencing.
REMEMBER: there are face covering requirements and you should wear one if you can’t maintain social distancing. Also, bring your own equipment, please keep in mind proper sanitizing of any touchable items and only share sporting goods within the same household. We all need to do our part to reopen San Mateo safely and curb the spread of COVID-19!
The following are now open:
- Dog Parks
- Basketball Courts (for people within the same household)
- Fields for Passive Use Only (no team sports or pick-up games)
- Tennis Courts
- Bocce Ball Courts
- Parking Lots (with the exception of Ryder Park, Upper Beresford Park and South Parkside Aquatic Park)
Aquatics & Pools to Remain Closed
The Summer 2020 (June 15 -September 7) Aquatic season is canceled due to COVID-19 concerns and the complexity to comply with the San Mateo County Health orders. This cancellation includes swim lessons, lap swim, recreation swim, swimmer aide program, and swim camps. Visit www.cityofsanmateo.org/aquatics for updates in 2021!
