The end of November brings an annual welcome to the holidays with tree lightings, handmade crafts and Santa’s arrival at Hillsdale.

Get into the pottery studio this fall with November/December Sessions at Clayroom. When signing up for 6-week classes, one signs up by selecting (signing up for) the 1st class. Classes 2-6 will occur on a weekly cadence during the same day of the week and timeslot. 6-week in-studio classes for pottery.

Bay Meadows Run Club with Basecamp San Mateo. Join this free fun run Wednesday evenings at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 8am. Meet at 3050 S. Delaware for a 2-, 3-, 4- or 6-mile loop (something for everyone) to get moving. Run, jog, or walk. Happening weekly – rain or shine. All paces and people are welcome. Members often gather in Town Square for a Blue Bottle coffee or at Fieldwork Brewing Beer Garden after each run. Plus, there’s no fee! You heard right – membership is not required. This is a community building fun run, compliments of our neighbors at Basecamp Bay Meadows.

Sunday Downtown San Mateo Farmers Market. West Coast Farmer’s market is kicking off a new location at 222 East 4th Avenue Sundays from 9am to 2pm in Downtown San Mateo. The new farmer’s market will have a curated selection of fresh fruits, veggies, and a couple of tasty food trucks to fuel your morning stroll.

Saturday College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard.

November 1-8, Nightfall at Filoli. As twilight descends, Filoli in Woodside transforms into a haunted wonderland where surprises await around every bend. With a spellbinding blend of whimsy, spooky, and spectacular, Nightfall casts a delightfully chilling charm on all little ghouls and grown-up goblins.

November 1-30, Zoppé Italian Family Circus. The beloved Zoppé Italian Family Circus returns to Redwood City for its 18th spectacular season! Step inside the charming Big Top for an unforgettable two-hour performance that honors the best of Old-World Italian tradition.

November 2, Dia de los Muertos. Casa Círculo Cultural, the SMC History Museum and the Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation are bringing a Día de los Muertos Celebration to Redwood City.

November 3, First Day: Letters to Santa. This holiday season, youth can write a letter to the North Pole and get a free personalized response in return from Santa and his elves! Letters must be dropped off to Santa’s mailbox located at the front of the Belmont Parks and Recreation Office or postmarked by December 8.

November 7, First Friday Nights. On the first Friday of every month, from 5 PM until 8 PM, parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo. Dance to some of your favorite hits, while enjoying animal presentations and science activities.

November 11, Veterans Day Ceremony. Join the City of Belmont at Veterans’ Memorial in Twin Pines Park for an annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

November 13 – Gather with the Mom Walk Collective San Mateo at the NEW Sidewalk Juice at Bay Meadows at 10AM. RSVP at the link in this bio. Nov 14 – Jan 11, San Mateo on Ice. Experience the wonder of ice skating in the open air on 11,000 sf of real ice in Central Park, San Mateo!

November 15, French Baguette Class in San Mateo. This is a fully hands on bread making class for French Baguettes. Learn the essentials of creating and preparing your dough and techniques for pulling, shaping, forming, scoring and baking.

November 16, HEAD WEST Marketplace. Visit Downtown San Mateo’s South B Street every third Sunday of the month. Browse unique holiday gifts or find a treat for yourself from 50 local Makers, Merchants, Crafters, Designers, and Artists. November 20, Salsa Fiesta Night. Enjoy a sizzling Salsa Fiesta Night at Pinstripes in San Mateo! Get ready to dance the night away to energetic Latin beats and enjoy delicious cuisine. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to have fun, this event is perfect for everyone.

November 21, Tree Lighting & Santa’s Arrival at Hillsdale in San Mateo. Deliver into the magical world of the “The Nutcracker” ballet plus Santa’s arrival. Hosted by the SF Youth Ballet. North Block.

November 22, ART on the Square’s 10th Anniversary Holiday Show. Celebrate ART on the Square’s 10th Anniversary Holiday Show in the stunning San Mateo County History Museum. Whether you’re looking for stocking stuffers or splurges, you’ll be sure to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list.

November 24, Flora Party: Thanksgiving Centerpieces. Create a show-stopping centerpiece sure to be the talk of your Thanksgiving table. Guided by Filoli’s expert instructors, you’ll craft an elegant focal point using seasonal materials thoughtfully sourced from Filoli’s estate and local vendors. In Woodside.

November 28, Starlight Nights. Fall and winter evenings come alive at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos’s Starlight Nights! The museum and gift shop remain open until 7 PM, with Starlab sky shows available inside and, weather permitting, telescopic observations of the Moon and planets of our solar system available outside.

Thru November, Rock the Dock Concert Series in Redwood City. Enjoy live music, dancing, food and fun on the waterfront. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs, blankets, jackets and refreshments. On-site food vendors will also be available.

Bel Mateo Bowl Friday, Saturday and Sundays in San Mateo.
Karoake – Fridays from 7:30 – 11:30pm hit the mic with friends for some Karaoke.
Planet Bowling – Bowl in the dark under black lights on Fridays from 9:30 – 11:30pm and Saturdays from 8- 11:30pm.

Bicycle Sundays. From 9am – 3pm, a 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities including jogging, bicycling, hiking, roller-skating, and walking. Cañada Road between Edgewood Road to the Filoli entrance will remain open to vehicles. Check for holiday closures.

Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long. Whether it’s growing your own vegetables in an organic community garden, playing a game of pick-up basketball after work, team building over bocce in the beer garden, picnicking with family on warm summer nights or with a run around the park, there’s no shortage of green space to explore.
