KoJa Kitchen Creates Korean – Japanese Fusion Food in San Mateo
San Mateo has a new go-to spot to get your Korean-Japanese fusion fix. Newly opened KoJa Kitchen located at 150 S. B Street takes the best of both Korean and Japanese cuisines and reinvents them in a way that is fun and delicious to eat. KoJa took over the location of the old Pho Garden location and has created a new and exciting food concept that will cater to the vibrant downtown San Mateo area furthering our well-deserved status as “Best Small Town for Food”.
You can expect the dining experience at Koja to be: “Unique, trendy, fun, and casual, with bold flavors.”
What is a KoJa? KoJa is like a burger, but better. This special gourmet sandwich is infused with a unique combination of Korean and Japanese flavors. To step it up a notch, KoJa Kitchen substitutes the traditional wheat buns with freshly made crispy garlic rice buns.
What’s the perfect pairing for the San Mateo crowd? KoJa says:
Short rib Koja, Kamikaze fries, and Korean Buffalo wings with our beer selections (KoJa will have beer soon). Get a sneak peek look at the menu here.
Serving up creative fusion flavors all over the San Francisco Bay Area on a Food Truck since 2011, KoJa first test marketed their concept in San Diego. The Truck has been featured on the two Food Network Shows: Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and Eat Street. With strong fan support, they opened a restaurant in 2014. They continue to expand and serve up delicious sandwiches with your choice of protein (short rib, beef, chicken, or vegetarian) served between fried garlic rice buns.
Order Online: KoJa hopes to launch the online ordering applications for the San Mateo location soon. You can also catch the Korean-Japanese fusion at Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco on Aug 5-7th.
