San Mateo Is “Anything But Boring”
“….true foodies also know that San Mateo is arguably the Bay Area’s ramen capital, and actually the place is anything but boring. Skip the traffic and take the train for craft beer, Michelin-starred sushi, inventive Indian-inspired cocktails, and gorgeous views.”
San Mateo hot spots including Bay Meadows was the topic of a recent 7×7 article. Showcasing lifestyle highlights such as restaurants, bars and parks, the article gave a detailed shout out to Bay Meadows Town Square, listing the many dining options found at our community. And of course, the one item which caught our eye was the mention of Bay Meadow’s neighborhood food scene stating “Here you can grub on Roam Artisan Burgers and ice cream from Tin Pot Creamery, or grab a beer or a cold brew from Fieldwork Brewing and Blue Bottle Coffee respectively.”
The article followed with a diverse list which included local favorites Kitchentown, Ramen Dojo and Santa Ramen, Sushi Yoshizumi, All Spice and 31st Union.
To compliment the list of dining locations, 7×7 went on to list a number of bars in San Mateo to round out a night on the town. Popular spots like B Street & Vine, Wursthall, Mortar & Pestle and Grape & Grain also made the list.
A nice list of local recreational spots to relax and take in the beauty of the region included Coyote Point, Central Park and Japanese Garden and Sawyer Camp Segment – excellent venues to get outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty just minutes from our doorstep at Bay Meadows. In fact, many of our residents make it a regular thing by grabbing a bicycle and biking directly from Bay Meadows along the Bay Trail or to other local nature-filled destinations.
We love when San Mateo gets some regional love and that people are learning more about our exciting city on the peninsula. You can read the article in its entirety here.
