Meet Anaeli: A New Face of the Bay Meadows Apartment Collection

We’re excited to introduce you to Anaeli, our newest Sales & Marketing Associate on the Bozzuto leasing team at Bay Meadows. A Bay Area native, Anaeli has lived in San Francisco her entire life and brings with her a wealth of insider knowledge on the Peninsula’s dining scene—she’s the perfect person to ask when you’re searching for your next favorite restaurant. At Bay Meadows, she helps prospective residents find the right home within The Apartment Collection and supports current residents with their needs. “I really like helping people and being able to have conversations with everybody,” she shares. “Just helping them find a place they feel comfortable in is so rewarding.” Fun fact: she has a bulldog named Nala who she says secretly runs her life.

Life at Bay Meadows makes it easy to enjoy the best of San Mateo living. With five distinctive apartment buildings, each offering its own unique vibe and aesthetic, residents are always pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully designed and well-kept the community is. Steps from your door, you’ll find Town Square, home to popular spots like Blue Bottle Coffee, Bahche Mezze & Wine Bar, Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo Beer Garden, and coming soon, The Breakfast Club at Bay Meadows plus Sidewalk Juice, alongside dog-friendly patios that make dining al fresco with your pup a breeze. Just down the street, Hillsdale Shopping Center expands your options even further with great restaurants, local favorites, and easy access to shopping and entertainment. Add in direct connections to neighborhood trails and Caltrain, and your lifestyle here is as connected as it is convenient.

When asked what resonates most with prospective residents, Anaeli notes: “People are impressed that all five of our apartment buildings have different vibes. They love how clean and well-maintained everything is, and how seamlessly we manage the details.” Personally, Anaeli loves the summer and fall months at Bay Meadows. “There’s a warm and cozy feeling during that time, and there are always so many activities and things to do around the Bay Area.” And when she’s not assisting residents, you’ll likely find her out with Nala or enjoying her passion for food. A few of her go-to dishes nearby? The “Not So Fried” Chicken Sandwich at Mendocino Farms, the Superlative Bread Pudding at The Refuge, and a comforting bowl of Vegetable Noodle Soup at Pho Element.

As for her dream apartment within The Collection, Anaeli has a favorite: “I’d say The Morgan because I just love the layouts, the kitchen islands, and the large windows. I’d pick the Pine floorplan, or more specifically, Unit 420, because the high ceilings and den create a sense of comfort that really feels like home.”

With associates like Anaeli guiding new residents, The Apartment Collection at Bay Meadows continues to offer not only beautiful places to live, but a welcoming, connected community where neighbors and team members alike make life here truly special.

Meet Isabella, Sr. Assistant General Manager at The Apartment Collection at Bay Meadows

There’s a new friendly face on the scene at Bay Meadows, and she’s here to make your living experience even smoother. Meet Isabella, our new Senior Assistant General Manager for the Bay Meadows Apartment Collection! With 7 years in the industry and a deep passion for helping people find not just an apartment—but a home—Isabella brings a wealth of experience and heart to her work.

Her day-to-day includes everything from assisting residents with renewals and ledger questions to making sure each unit is move-in ready for new neighbors. Isabella’s hands-on approach ensures that no detail goes unnoticed, and she’s always eager to support the leasing team with anything that arises. “I love getting to know residents and their families,” she shares. “Learning their life path and how they came to the Bay Area makes every day special. It’s incredibly rewarding to help someone find their new home and share a bit of kindness along the way.”

Isabella is drawn to Bay Meadows for the same reasons many of our residents are—its lush green spaces, walkable design, and a lifestyle that strikes the perfect balance between active and relaxed. When she’s off the clock, you might catch her hiking a local trail, planning her next scuba dive (fun fact: her favorite dive site is the Great Barrier Reef!), or enjoying the great outdoors with her dog, Nash. “Bay Meadows stands out because of the greenery, friendly neighbors and relaxed lifestyle it offers,” she says. “Bay Meadows Park is my favorite—it’s the perfect place to let Nash run and play in the evenings with its open layout and peaceful walking paths.”

At Bay Meadows, we know that home doesn’t just mean a place to rest your head—it’s where your whole family, pups included, feels welcomed. That’s why The Apartment Collection at Bay Meadows is designed with dog-friendly features like pet washing stations, nearby trails like the Bay Trail and Seal Slough, and easy access to wide-open green spaces such as Bay Meadows Park and Landing Green. Isabella especially recommends our ground-floor flats with large patios at Field House and The Morgan—perfect for pet parents who want seamless access to outdoor space for quick walks or lazy lounge days with their four-legged companions.

Nash, Isabella’s five-year-old rat terrier mix, has definitely given the neighborhood two paws up. A self-described homebody, Nash enjoys sleeping in the sun, chewing on bones, and strolling to the park when it’s quiet enough to claim the whole space for his signature roll-around routine. With direct access to nearby greens, patios to soak up the sun, and a like-minded community of dog lovers, it’s easy to see why dogs (and their humans) feel right at home here.

And with new patio dining destinations like Bahche, Sidewalk Juice, and The Breakfast Club popping up in Town Square, Isabella is looking forward to exploring more of the neighborhood’s walkable charm. “I can’t wait to grab a juice after the gym or sit down with my husband and Nash for a weekend brunch,” she says. “It’s peaceful, convenient, and makes life feel that much fuller.”

Next time you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi to Isabella—she might just help you find your next home… and make a new furry friend along the way.

Tips to Keep Your Dog Safe this July 4

At Bay Meadows, we know your four-legged friends are family, and nothing matters more than keeping them safe and happy—especially during the excitement (and noise!) of the Fourth of July. While the holiday is full of fun for humans, it can be overwhelming for our pet family. A few simple steps can make a big difference for your dog’s comfort and well-being.

One of the best things you can do? Tire them out. Plan a long walk through Bay Meadows 18 acres of open space and neighborhood pathways or pop over to Landing Green Park for an extra game of fetch before the fireworks begin. San Mateo also has several wonderful dog-friendly parks and off-leash play areas nearby. Take a trip to Seal Point Park for waterfront views and wide open space, or visit the popular Laurie Meadows Dog Exercise Area for some off-leash play. Los Prados Park offers shaded strolls perfect for warm summer days. Beresford’s Chanteloup Field offers a three-acre off-leash dog area to blow off some energy, while Central Park features trails and grassy spots where your dog can relax before the evening excitement begins.

A well-exercised pup is more likely to feel relaxed once the sun goes down. You might even consider serving dinner and doing potty time earlier than usual so they’re settled in before things get loud.

Create a cozy retreat inside your home—think of it as a little doggie fort. Gather their favorite blankets, toys, and maybe even an old t-shirt that smells like you. This familiar setup offers a sense of safety when the outside world feels unpredictable. Play calming music or turn on a white noise app to help drown out the pops and booms.

Your presence matters. If possible, stay home with your pup and offer gentle reassurance. Snuggles, treats, or engaging toys like Kongs or puzzles can work wonders for distraction. If your dog has high anxiety, talk to your vet ahead of time about options like a Thundershirt or safe sedatives that can help take the edge off.

Here’s a handy recap to keep your dog safe and happy this Fourth:

  • Tire them out with playtime and a long walk
  • Plan for an earlier dinner and potty break
  • Set up a cozy hideaway with blankets and your scent
  • Use Kongs, puzzles, or calming music to distract
  • Stay home and comfort them
  • Ensure tags are on or pet is microchipped
  • Keep human food out of reach
  • Talk to your vet about anxiety support if needed

Bay Meadows is proud to be a pet-friendly neighborhood full of thoughtful pet parents. Let’s make this Fourth of July a safe one for all our furry residents!

A good first impression is everything! Summertime means welcoming more guests to your residence, which can be overwhelming. Whether company is your coming for an evening barbeque, a weekend or a week, it’s important to ensure they feel right at home.

If you’re prepping for a weekend or longer, there is a lot that you can do to make their stay amazing, long before they ever step foot in your residence at Bay Meadows. Below is a quick checklist that’ll help you get started:

Keep the entry spacious for shoes and bags.

Bring on the citrus! Citrus, vanilla, and herbal scents like basil or rosemary the most widely favored scents. Ensure your home smells fresh with clean floors, linens, emptied trash, and candles.

Remove pet hair with a lint roller before guests arrive.

De-clutter! A clean space is appealing; clear surfaces, dust, and vacuum.

Ensure the bathroom has extra toilet paper, nice spray, soap, and clean hand towels ready.

Prepare a basket in a guest room anticipating any needs such as drinks, snacks, chargers, or sunscreen. You can also include one in the bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, and hang up an extra robe.

Provide a closet, hangers, side table, and luggage rack.

Include fresh linens, a clock, charger, trash can, and little extras like a chocolate or mint on the pillow like a fabulous 5-star turndown service.

Add fresh flowers, have your guest WiFi password available and grab a few of their favorite items for the most welcoming experience.

For weekend stays or longer, get a few gift cards to Blue Bottle, Fieldwork Brewing or a favorite restaurant or entertainment spot like Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas or Pinstripes Bowling at nearby Hillsdale Shopping Center so they can enjoy a walkable adventure on you! Hawthorne’s 2- and 3-bedroom residence plans include a limited-supply of single-level floor plans which are ideal (and extremely convenient) for pet-owners. In fact, the first-floor private entry patios have been a really popular design element for people with dogs. It’s a major convenience to be able to avoid long corridors, stairs, and elevators multiple times a day!

Adjacent to parks and open spaces on three sides– Paddock Park, Landing Green Park, and the community garden at Persimmon Park, Hawthorne was designed to extend and blend into its surroundings.

A single-level plan, private first-floor entry patio, plus a park nearby?  Fido will fall in love! And you cannot find a Peninsula neighborhood more pet-friendly. With retailers like Fieldwork Brewing San Mateo Beer Garden and Blue Bottle Cafe that cater to canines, tails will always be waggin’.

The best part about life at Bay Meadows is how walkable the area is, whether its taking your dog out for a walk, getting a bite to eat or grocery shopping – you can do all of it within a 10-minute walk. The kitchens at Hawthorne are the perfect mix of modern and luxury, providing Samsung appliances plus ample flat-paneled cabinetry for all your cookware, and the gym has top of the line equipment that will provide you with all of your workout needs.
