Meet Local Health Ambassador, Dawn Wertman

A transplant from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dawn Wertman has found home here. You might find her strolling the Sunday Market at Bay Meadows filling her tote with favorites such as peaches, carrots, nectarines, honey, grapes, and watermelon. Or she may be on the bike next to you at a LIFT class. Living just a mile from Bay Meadows she’s an active member of our local community, happy client @ LIFT and Ambassador @ Pure Haven which offers consumers pure, safe, alternative personal care choices that empower people to live the healthiest lifestyle possible.

“… I absolutely love the community feel here in California, in our neighborhood, in LIFT, and in my wellness and non-toxic community as well. I love the Bay Meadows community feel, LIFT, Roam, Fieldwork, and Blue Bottle.”

Thoughtful attention to leading a well-rounded, well-lived life is something we fundamentally built into the plans when designing the community infrastructure at Bay Meadows. From the community garden and plenty of pocket parks, places to convene outdoors with neighbors plus trails to walk and ride to specialty retailers that support good choices, the goal was a walkable, bikeable mid-urban village built with the modern lifestyle in mind. Community building was key and LIFT Exercise was naturally a perfect fit. Dawn says it best:

“I have been a member since LIFT opened and take all four formats: Bike, BARRE, Hi-BARRE, and HIIT. The health benefits are: positive mindset, weight-loss, muscle tone, and improved overall physical and mental health. The instructors are by far superior, facility is clean and beautiful, staff is friendly, and childcare is another added benefit as a parent. The members, instructors, and owner are all exemplary….. just absolutely amazing people who have created an incredible community.”

Living a healthy lifestyle is something Dawn has taken to a new level. An Ambassador @ Pure Haven for 4 years now, she is on a mission to change lives. It all started when she had a close friend diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 43 who taught her how to read product label ingredients.

“I learned very quickly how many toxins we are putting into our bodies on a daily basis that is not regulated or fully disclosed in product labels. What we put onto our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream in less than 30 seconds! I feel every consumer has a right to know what’s truly affecting their health.”
