Enjoy some summer sunshine this August! We’ve rounded up an agenda that includes summer music concerts and movies in the park, festivals, carnivals, chili cookoffs and much, much more at Bay Meadows and beyond. August 1, National Night Out 2023. Strengthen your community by knowing your neighbors, watching out for each other, and working together for a safe community. This event is open to all residents and blocks in the City of San Mateo.
August 1-10, Central Park Music Series. Central Park Music Series is a signature summer event that brings you eight evenings of free live music every Thursday evening in San Mateo.
August 1-23, Music in the Park. Free music throughout the summer in Redwood City each Wednesday. All proceeds benefit the Save the Music program in Redwood City Schools.
August 1-31, Movies on the Square. Head to Downtown Redwood City for a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience with two showings of family-friendly, independent, and feature films, alternating each week.
August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 — 25th Avenue San Mateo Farmers Market is back Tuesdays 3-7pm running through October 24th 2023. Greet the growers and find summer greens, summer squash, corn, peaches, and berries. Find prepared foods, baked goods, and more, too!
August 2, lululemon Hillsdale Run Club. Run, jog, or walk with lululemon Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo. Come ready to connect and get sweaty with your surrounding community!
August 3 + 10, Central Park Music Series. Enjoy free concerts from 6:00-8:00pm in San Mateo.

August 4, First Friday Nights. Swing into the weekend with music, science, animals and fun! On the first Friday of every month parents and kids celebrate together at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo.
August 4, Free First Friday. Admission is free at the SMC History Museum in Redwood City. Online, preschoolers can listen to a story and make a craft.
August 4-September 1, Music on the Square. Celebrate the summer on Friday evenings at Redwood City’s Courthouse Square with top-quality local and national musical performers.
August 5, Pause, Sip, and Explore! Sip and sample your way through Central Italy in San Mateo.
August 5, Pub In the Park. Imagine a leisurely summer afternoon in Redwood City lounging in a park, while listening to bluegrass music, sipping delicious local brews and enjoying lawn games.
Aug 5, 12, 19, 26 College of San Mateo Farmers’ Market. Shop seasonally and fresh each Saturday from 9am to 1pm (year-round) at San Mateo’s largest farmer’s market located at 1700 West Hillsdale Boulevard. Summer produce is here! Keep an eye out for peaches, tomatoes, summer squash, onions, leafy greens, local honey, citrus, and so much more!

August 12-27, Shakespeare in the Park. Free Shakespeare in the Park is celebrating 41 years of free, in-person outdoor theater performances in Redwood City.
August 19, Neapolitan Style Pizza. A new class from Baking Arts in San Mateo featuring classic pizza made with hand stretched dough in the Neapolitan style.
AUG 21 – ROAM Artisan Burgers introduces an all new BREAKFAST MENU to Bay Meadows! Be a part of the Breakfast Club and try one of four new tasty made-to-order sandwich + sides such as tots, chicken apple sausage and applewood smoked bacon from 8:30am to noon, daily.
August 25, Movies in the Parks. Head to Belmont for an evening of movies under the stars.

August 26, Coyote Point Summerfest: A Community Celebration. Enjoy giant kites from the Kite Man of Martinez, kids + bike rides, live performances, resource booths and food trucks in San Mateo.
August 26, Kokedama Workshop. If creating a hanging garden sounds too fancy for your plant skills, you’ll learn how easy it is to create in this kokedama making class in San Mateo.
August 26, San Mateo Firefighters Association’s Chili Cook Off. Enjoy a taste of each Chili, a Car Show, Jump House for the kids, and live music in San Mateo.
August 27, Kids Carnival. Aircraft checkouts, cockpit exploration, glider and helicopter construction and more are just some of the activities available at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos.
Bicycle Sundays. A 3.8-mile segment of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail is closed between the Filoli entrance and Highway 92 allowing for non-motorized activities.
Experience Midurban life. Bay Meadows is a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space to enjoy all-year long.
